TRICK TIP: Unicorn Stomp To Drop-In

Dad’s reflexes were on point today! What’s wild about skating is that you can skate at one spot, maybe even bigger features and then have a full mental block at another spot with smaller features. It’s becoming more and more clear to us that skateboarding is like golf, it’s a lifetime sport and some days everything clicks for you and other days you’re lost.
Her ability to overcome her fear on this smaller feature was very admirable. Let alone it being super hot out, she was determined to drop this. At one point we had to take a break, sit down, have some water, and just reset. That’s when she came back with more confidence to stomp this down and ride it out!

These are the type of parents that DESERVE a child. Their patience, how much they support her and gas her up, the way they are both there for her to catch and compliment her, my god I wish every parent could be like this.

Im rlly sorry I'm like that too My father calls me names everyday, he yells, threatens and belittles, specially if you end up crying If you actually try to approach him, build any sort of friendship, he interprets that as you needing to be put on your place, bc how dare you even think you guys could be friends? The disrespect! As he likes to say "youre my daughter, so put yourself in a daughter's place" (wtvr that's supposed to mean) He doesn't even know me If no one remembers him its my birthday He doesnt even bother to ask And will not remember at all He would never bother on disappearing on my toddler self on the freaking beach and leave me looking for him crying my ass out whenever I asked him to pls take me with him and teach me how to swim (he's a rlly great swimmer tho. That's why I wanted to learn from him. But instead, he would always swim far away until I couldn't even see him anymore) On surprisingly too many occasions, other men had to step in and literally drag me out of the water bc I was drowning and my father was nowhere to be seen I couldn't even tell him later no matter how scary it was bc he would punish me for it I would just sit on the burning hot sun, holding my cry and wait until it was dark and he came back Just thinking abt it gives me chills, bc anyone could've just taken me away Just like that And he wouldn't even notice in time I'm forever grateful to those men and fathers who left their child for a second to help me out Lol, in my toddler head, that was normal I saw those men as some sort of kings of the sea who were always there to protect children or wtvr 🤦🏾‍♀️ That's how I saw it I waited until I was 19, purposely for him to teach me how to ride a bike I rlly wanted to learn, and all my teenage friends would make fun of me The grl who lives on a island, surrounded by sea, but couldnt swim or even ride a bike But yet I preferred to wait Bc Idk, besides every time he "dumped" me somehow I still had this annoying thing for making excuses for him, blaming myself and pretending it didn't happen I always craved spending any real dad daughter time with him and actually having him as a dad (you know, a caring one?) and I just have to live with the fact that I will always do We're just strangers to each other The only thing I will ever know from him is his screaming voice My mom is no different Most hurtful thing is how they wanted me to be a boy Bought me all boy things, dressed me like a boy and made me feel this sort of guilt, disgust for my own body And in such a long lasting way (when I hit puberty, specially not knowing anything about it, damn, the self hatred, the hiding, everything, it was just painful) And when I was 5 and my brother was born They managed to forget I was even there, growing up at the same house These kind of videos are hurtful to watch for me but they're also a reminder of how I should and will be if I ever have a child My child wont even step a foot on their house Specially if they're a girl No way! My whole family can normalize my parents behaviour on me But they'll never touch my children. No matter how much they decide to shun and villanize me for my decision. I'll fight and drop my whole family if necessary. No one will make my kids go through half of that

I was in your place too except it was both my parents. I was fat shamed by my mom and my dad told me to stop eating but I did it because I was hurting. He put my older sister first before me and I never got attention. I cussed my mom out months ago and left for almost two months because I told her off for never being here for me. At this age, kids probably have no choice, and they go with what their parents love more, but after that, when they become around 15-16 years old, many of them lose their interest in this thing, but this's about being an olympian or whatever, but for the parents, they're doing a great job!

@@henrythomas5771 i have heard about this. you really can invent genius if you allow a child to take on their interests early. I wish my parents had. I expressed extreme interest in physics at 6 years old and it wasn't until I was 21 that I was able to take advantage of that passion, it was like they just didn't care. This is so so so beautiful🥺.. seeing you both motivating her, telling her again and again that she can do it. Her listening to you, being positive and going for it agin and again.... It just melts my heart and makes me cry. It might seem normal as a parent to do what you are doing.. but for those who haven't ever heard anything positive about themselves from their parents in their lives... Ask them. You both are amazing parents and she will turn into a beautiful confident lady❤️.. thats for sure ✨

wow thank you so very much! it does all seem normal to us being parents but we also grew up with not a much positive support from our parents. we figured that buck stops here and we will try the route we are currently going with our little lady. 💜💜💜

As a woman who had BEGGED her parents for a skateboard when I was little and was shot down every time because it "wasn't something for little girls" ... This warms my heart and makes me cry. I love this. I ended up building my own skateboard when I was in my early teens but was never able to take it to the local skate park because of the harassment that followed. I literally had a plank of wood with four wheels from my roller blades screwed into the sides. I had a blast riding it down the dirt road we lived on, even despite the many times I hit a rock and launched myself into the ditch.

What era was this? My little sister learnt to skateboard in the 90s and she was a girly girl. Likely learnt because she only had brothers and what else is there to do. But she loved it and reason why if I ever have a daughter I will teach her all the fun sports.
@lr9376

@@squeekyclean1644 I was raised in the 90's. I also had three older brothers and one younger brother, go figure. I was the most boyish tomboy you could ever imagine. But my parents were very strict and had very specific gender roles that we all had to adhere to. As an adult looking back at it, it definitely messed my siblings and I up. I definitely don't raise my children with that same mentality.

@piiinkDeluxe When I started working at 15 the first thing I saved up for was a custom made skateboard! My parents couldn't tell me no, I bought it with money I had rightfully earned. It bothered them to no end lol. But I got several years out of my Blind board, I still have it and I've taught my kids to ride it as well. ❤

This is good parenting! Give your children the skills and strength to know they can achieve whatever they want even when they feel afraid. You can push yourself and it is a good thing not always a bad thing. I’m happy to finally see comments on something like this not tearing apart parents for actually wanting to give their kids the chance to build confidence early on yes you will fall but you can get back up.
