He's one of those men that others would say "he's forgotten more about playing the guitar at age 40 than most people will every learn about guitar in their entire lifetime." He is basically a freak of nature; Musical talent would be close to Mozart or Beethoven. PLEASE search YT for more of his works, you will not be disappointed.

Roy Clark is a country music legend. This guy plays all kind of guitar and stringed instruments. Won two or three national banjo contests when he was 14 and up. Played about 17 instruments. Great singer as well. Check outWings of Pegasus youtube site a British guitarist. He is a rocker but loves all genres. You will like his reaction and analysis H

@@Devon_Rismay Check out Roy Clark's Guitar Boogie. Great Piece of Music. Roy is a jokester. He's the same off stage as he is on the Stage. I had the privilege of singing with him, Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearl when I was a kid. My cousin was married to Grandpa Jones. Grandpa Jones was a heck of a banjo player. We all used to sit on the front porch at my Grandads house and play music with the Amish community that was right down the road. I love your reaction video's. I watch them over and over. Keep them coming. 👍👍❤

Mention Roy Clark to the gods of guitar and they will react with reverence and hushed tones. Give that man anything instrument with strings and that instrument will be able to die happy. He is the musician that would impress an audience (live on on TV) with his absolute mastery, then let the musicians around him somehow appear better. All heart, all talent, and the sweetest man, according to the stories.

Roy Clark was one of the greatest players of all time. Guitar, banjo, fiddle, if it had strings he could play it. His skill tends to be overshadowed by his TV presence as the MC of “Hee-Haw”, which was basically “Saturday Night Live” from Nashville. His performance of 12th Street Rag is worth a listen. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rtKilrGlrZvUpWw.html

Thanks for this! Roy was not known as "flamenco" - mostly "country" - but he could play ANYTHING - and this was a perfect show-off of how good he was! I've felt that Stevie Ray Vaughn is the total "GOAT" for years... but SRV was the blues GOAT... and actually Roy could be considered a GOAT in every other aspect of guitar -- we were blessed to have them both - and both are missed!

He was a whatever the flamenco he wanted to play guitar player. He is very high up the mountain if not on the top of the guitar player mountain. And he could play the crap out of almost any string instrument he wanted too. Several country guitar players are way overlooked in the great guitar player list. Roy Clark, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, Buck Owens, Keith Urban, Bonnie Raitt. You should also check out Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Tommy Emmanuel and Les Paul. You'll be happy you did.

As has already been said Roy was a master of a wide variety of styles on a number of different instruments. A side story to this scene was that Roy had played a couple different songs during the rehearsals and the two actors watching him didn't know what was coming so their amazed reactions were real. PS: This was also done in front of a live studio audience so the applause is also real. 🙂

Roy Clarke... a virtuoso on pretty much anything he played - 6-string,12-string, mandolin, banjo, and violin are all on the list. His was truly an extremely rare level of talent. Flamenco, Sure. Classical... Yes indeed. Bluegrass, Country, Western, Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll... truly, he played and recorded them all. To most folks, he was just a "country" musician, often times playing in a comedic style. But he was so good, to try to describe it... just sounds impossible. But the recordings are there. If this is your first Roy Clarke experience... well, you need to hear more - then tell me if I'm exaggerating. He passed away in 2018 at age 85. I enjoyed your reaction- good luck in your endeavors.

Legend. Won two national banjo championships. There are tons of great bluegrass and country pickers. All music fans should watch Ken Burns documentary on country music. Some of the solo artists known for their singing on records are great guitarists. Glen Campbell was a major singing success and was a great guitarist. Vince Gill had a superstar recording career (legendary voice) and is a great guitarist. Same with Brad Paisley. The list goes on and on.
