Im well aware of the notion that DeMeo was killed in Patty Testa’s home…I don’t believe anything Gaspipe says and I’m not a fan of the author Philip Carlo who wrote that book. Multiple law enforcement sources/informants and crime journalists like Jerry Capeci in Murder Machine have maintained the notion that he was killed in Patty’s garage. Furthermore, The Mob Museum also maintains this notion. Of course they could be wrong, but I’m going with the garage. I do not want to go on a charade bashing Carlo who unfortunately passed away from a terrible disease. However, it is clear that he let misinformation spread over the years through his writings. That Being said, i did enjoy his Tommy Karate book where many of the details of the crimes came from Frank Gangi who under oath as a witness had to speak his truths or risk life in prison.

Never heard of Tommy Karate till you but the name stuck with me. A guy Jimmy Calandra Bath Ave story popped up in my feed. Any new info? Just asking 😊

@@samanthab1923 jimmy calandra was a younger than Karate. He was with a group called “The Bath Ave Crew”. They were like young up an comers for The Bonnano family which Tommy Karate was in. They were Like a farm team i suppose you could say. Or “Gangsters in training”

I read Phillip DeCarlo's book about Gas a few times and my take is that it's a total fluff piece. I don't believe anything from DeCarlo or Gas. I will say it's an entertaining read but that's about it.

I’m from there, but moved to Florida in ‘85’ and haven’t been back once. Looking at the area gives me the chills. Canarese Brooklyn is where all these guys your mentioning hung out. If they knew you personally as just a civilian going back and forth to your legit job, these wise guys would do anything for you. Safest area in Brooklyn. 95% Italian neighborhood back when I was in my teens in the low 80s. If you did this in summer months I think you would had a problem. Be a-lot more people walking around asking what your doing etc. Of course a lot has changed since 80s. I assume it’s a lot more diversity ethnicity wise..Good job with camera, steady and clear

Man a hell of a good job! Exceeded my expectations and it was funny how different I imagined the whole area. Roy's house and neighborhood are much nicer than I thought and the boat club is vastly different. I thought his car was in a parking lot too. Really cool seeing Patty's garage. My dad was big in the fireworks from the 70’s all the way until the early 90’s and Roy bought from my pops a few times, my dad said Roy always paid, he would give my dad extra money for stuff. My dad got into some trouble and through my uncle some how Roy found out abs offered to give not borrow give my dad 5 grand to lay this debt off. My dad didn’t take it but that’s how Roy was my dad said. If he liked you he gave you the shirt off his back, he didn’t like you well you ended up in the Fountain Ave dump.

This is great stuff , I love it. That part of Brooklyn where Roy grew up is still nice. I bet it was a real nice section of town to live back in Roy's time, especially in his youth. Great job and details of locations and details of what happened to Roy and also the contents of his car. Very interesting. I have a clear picture of the locations now. I did not know Patty Testa was killed in the same spot 10 years later. I googled his name and saw a picture in a newspaper of him after he was shot and killed. Sounds like Casso became paranoid and started killing anybody that knew anything.
@thedarknessunderneathpodca63662 жыл бұрын
The Testa family think Casso did it. It is an odd hit because Patty was allegedly gentle for a Demeo/Luchesse guy and would have never snitched.

I especially appreciate this because in 2017, I spent almost two weeks walking up and down almost the entire St Johns Cemetary looking for Roy's grave. The only clue I had was from Al's book and a old Find a Grave post. I finally found it, after stumbling across many mob guys there and took a pic and uploaded it to the site. But this is well done, man! Folks don't understand the man hours you had to of had to put into this to make this vidseo possible. P.S. I found Roy's daughter on IG. Seems crazy how you have never seen (at-least I haven’t) any autopsy or clear crime scene pics of Roy in the Cadillac other than the from behind the car pic you see everywhere. The way it sounded in Alberts book and Murder Machine the cops were all over the car and even kind of celebratory over Roys death and how it ended for him. You know there were plenty of picture taken of him in the trunk by cops.
