Whenever I see clips of Miss Gordon it reminds me of my childhood, we always watched Crossroads at teatime. We felt we knew her. Lovely lady.

Once she returned to the musical stage, after the cruelty of her sacking from Crossroads, her singing voice really strengthened up again. Before TV she was a great West End star. I remember my Nan and Aunt telling me they saw her in a play that made many cry called ' Children in uniform.' Not sure when that was- probably just after the 2nd world war. She worked with and knew Noel Coward, Ivor Novello , Lerner and Loewe and Vivian Ellis - golden names of the musical theatre. Call Me Madam and Gypsy did wonders for her voice - she was always a belter / character singer. She just needed to get singing regularly again for things to come back vocally and muscles start working after all those years in soap opera. She really wanted to go on in Call Me Madam because in the original London production she was the understudy and never had the chance. What a wonderful artist and human being.

Wow - no longer am i going to feel sorry for Noele Gordon being sacked from that shit little programme she was way too good for - the only reason the programme was unmissable was because the main character was a huge very talented star - truth is Noele was better than Crossroads - and way better and bigger and better that the scum who sacked her - good on her for dusting herself down and reminding the country how very very talented she was - sadly missed - anyone remember the name of the men who sacked her ? no? - i didnt think so - dont remember with her with pity - remember her with admiration

Shut up. Crossroads wasn’t shit and it was Noele’s life for years. If you dump on Crossroads, you are dumping on Noele.
