I'd say he was a great leader, I'd say he always gave his all, I'd say he was consistent, dedicated, tough, read the game well, could defend, tackle, pass, organise, motivate and get the odd goal. He was consistently above average in all areas but not as good as Zindane, Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Seedorf, Figo etc with regards to touch, technical ability etc Keane was definitely up there with the best though. Its just his best attributes were different to those who were given all the accolades. I bet a lot of those players would have liked to have a bit of what Roy Keane had just as much as he'd love to have had some of theirs. That's what makes football exciting. One manager would build a team around Roy Keane, another manager would see him as limited technical ability and build a team around Seedorf. Scholes was considered a better player by all the European top players but Scholes and all the United players would all have had Roy Keane first on the team sheet. It's a game of opinions. I'd love to see another player like Roy Keane but I don't think there will be another anything close to him in the modern game
