About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

In my opinion, this is the definitive Royal Blood song. Heavy like the first album but with the danceable beats of the upcoming album. This captures RB right in the middle of that transition

bruno wulfse Good choice of varied effects on their instrument chain, splits the single Bass layer into a few separate unique layers called upon of choice/used in unison... Then additional layering and really good modern tight production/mix... In some cases, less is more and let's you take advantage of what you have available... They've found their sound

Well, running his bass through two amps, one has an octave pedal and a fuzz/ distortion pedal, in parallel with the clean bass sound. Wether or not you use a guitar amp for the octave up signal or bass amp is your choice, I'd say it's better to use a bass amp, reason for that is cuz you still have a lot of low end with signals, making it thick, buuuut, maybe you want a defined high end tone, so do what you want.

Me and my mate were invited with lots of other fans to participate in the filming. Was really excited but turns out they removed us all. We were around their platform dancing to the new hit as they took 6 takes for this clip. Great song but a bit gutted.

I love this band because they understand what a pocket is in music. They know when it’s appropriate to leave and enter the pocket of the music. The drums aren’t complex but flavorful enough to pop!The guitar matches the pocket enough to stand out and bring the royal blood flavor that sounds unique! Only two instruments yet the quality of an entire band!💯👌🏽 props to your underrated talent!

There are to many people out there that listen to rock but only RHCP, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, etc. But these rock bands won't be around forever, so let's all start to support the new bands like Royal Blood or Highly Suspect and ensure the survival of rock!

I'm so hyped for this album although a lot of tracks have already been revealed. We have Lights Out, Hook, Line and Sinker, Where Are You Now and now, I Only Lie When I Love You. If you saw them live, She's Creeping should be added. But if this is any indication for the album, it's gonna be amazing and on par with the first, if not above par.

Royal Blood is probably my favourite rock act of the last decade. It's the heaviness mixed with the pop appeal that I love. I can tell they're probably big Qotsa fans from the riffs and the singing. But he has a way with melody that makes them earworms and consistently gets them radio play.

It's amazing how one bass player and one one drummer with a 3 piece set can create such a full sound and come off like a bigger group. I've been trying to get my niece who plays upright classical Bass to listen to this group to see what is possible.

I spent over 3 months listening to Audioslave, Soundgarden and Chris Cornell's solo music since his passing. I didn't foresee I'd become more selective. I've stopped several videos within seconds because I just couldn't stand the poor quality of the music that I was listening too. I'm very pleased I came across Royal Blood's covers of My Sharona and Happy today. Thank you!!!

The real problem is post 9/11 pop country, people who listen to rap either weren't listening to rock in the first place or still listen to it. And modern electronica came from disco so yeah, still not rivals (although produce so maybe I'm biased)
