Yea its a great spot, I think the first time I went was when my cousin took me with my little suzuki quad LT80. About 29 years ago! Probably wasn’t allowed back then either but hey ho! My first taste of the open road!

You've done a terrific job with all the mods, she's looking like a true old school scrambler, well done! (I didn't know about that hidden bit off the Woodhead Rd, it was a busy day, maybe Richy Vida went by on his Africa Twin!)

A fellow over in India, art of unwinding, found out that Himalayan damper rods were a drop in fit for his scrambler build. I’m thinking of trying it out to increase my fork travel and rake. You could always add lowering spacers to split the difference. Cheers from Washington state!

@@DormanDiaries Lot of great riding around here, especially the North Cascade pass. 75 miles of a winding mountain road with no towns in between. Climate is just about the same as Northern England as well.

Yep, that’s a lots of mods, the one I agree 100% is the golden Royal Enfield logo instead of the ugly stock one👍🏻, question: how could you sleep at night having that ugly dent on the gas tank?😟

I like the way people are personalising these bikes ! Be it just cosmetics or mechanicals everyone has thier own aesthetic and it's all thanks to the bike lending itself to being a blank canvas 👍 only ever seen one that looked like hammered dogshit , just couldn't get my head round it !

I agree it’s fantastic how RE have clearly built it to encourage modification and they do encourage it via collabs with bike builders like Revival etc.

@@DormanDiaries I think once Motone have developed specific parts for the twins as they have done the Bonnie's I think the world will be your lobster ! I swapped out the original indicators for the black Motone ones and they really suit the bikes retro feel , I've done a few mods but mostly blacking out silver parts , just waiting for new stainless downpipes to go with my S&S cans 👍

Nice one mate. I have a tire question, since I’m looking to change mine too into a scramblerized version. Is your rear size a 150 and does it have enough clearance to the sides, particularly the chain side? I like the bridgestones but leaning more for the Pirelli scorpion rally str right now. Just worried that the side walls might get to close to the frame and chain... cheers!
@DormanDiaries
@DormanDiaries 3 жыл бұрын
Hi C4rlos - My rear is a 130/80. The main thing to be careful of is the height of the tyre for clearance as the swing arm isn’t very long. I think I’ve got about 20mm clearance at the moment. Will increase as chain slackens. Its not ideal as mud and gravel will scratch the swing-arm over time. Another thing to bear in mind is the sizes will vary with tread pattern. ie a tyre in same size from one manufacturer will likely be different to one from another particularly once you get into knobblies. Cheers
@TheRealCabe
@TheRealCabe 3 жыл бұрын
@@DormanDiaries thanks for your quick reply! The more I learn about tires I want to fit in my Interceptor the more I think I should really stick to factory sizes, especially the rear.. again thank you and safe rides!
