The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is a modern classic cruiser thats avalable all over the world including the UK and USA . It has a with a great sound and a chrome exhaust . It comes in 3 flavours being the supernova , Fireball and the Stellar essai. On test ride the top speed was sort of ok but we talk about that in this Moto Review.

I've had my Stellar since June and it bothers me not a jot that the top speed is limited to 70 - as we get older we grow wiser(hopefully!) and if you want a brilliant 350 for the pure enjoyment of stress free riding you won't be disappointed.

I just purchased a Meteor two weeks ago. Other than the test ride I haven't had a chance to ride it because it's the middle of winter here in Ohio. I have been riding bikes for 50 years now. The biggest were a couple Suzuki GT750's and a Suzuki GS1000. My days of going fast are behind me. I'm 68 now and this little Meteor checked every box for me. Smaller ,easier to handle, comfortable, and perfect for just puttering around on country roads. I have no plans to take it on interstates except maybe from one exit to the next which I'm sure it can handle. I was really impressed with the seating position, low seat height, and the smoothest single cyl. engine I have ever ridden. I can't wait for spring to get here!

I love your comment. I'm a Cali boy, but have been living in NKY the past 15yrs. Maybe a year older than you, same length of time riding, same history of big-dog bikes (including a Victory Kingpin I just sold a month ago), same desire to return to simpler bikes that are just a pleasure to ride. With any luck, I'll get my Meteor this coming week in Xenia. Good riding to you!

I have bought and driven about 30 different Motorcycles in the last 30 years. But one of them was getting so deep into my heart. Why? Because it is just a motorcycle with no technical overkill. It makes me smile on every ride with its wunderful engine, the comfortable seating position and its hole character. None of my further bikes had ever been so smooth and gentle, not even the Harleys or the Honda Cruisers. Accleration? Top-Speed? Totally unimportant on such a bike. But feelings? Yes, 100%. (and that for the price of a 125ccm-Scooter). That is the main reason for buying and loving a Meteor 350.

I’ve done 1500 miles on mine and I love it! A couple of mild tweaks such as air intake/filter improvement and FuelX Pro to fool the Euro5 compliant ridiculously lean EFI into injecting a richer fuel/air mix, torque and throttle-response are noticeably improved. It seems to be input from the ABS speed sensors that limit it to an indicated 74 mph. This is fast enough for UK motorways for short hauls. 85 would be nice and the engine feels as if it would be more than capable but it’s a Euro5 restriction. Makes me glad we left the European Union.

Thanks for an informed review, Certainly a beautiful little bike, and a dream to ride, but I'm so so glad I didn't buy one last September when I had a test ride, and waited for the All New Classic 350. Saw one "in the flesh" for the first time today, and hopefully mine will arrive in a few weeks. Each to their own, and like anything else opinion is split down the middle, but for me, the pea shooter exhaust and spoked wheels Hark back to my youth., and the exhaust note is a little "thumpier " I believe.

I purchased my Meteor 5th June 2021 since then the weather has been pretty awful but despite this I've covered 800mls and I must say the meteor is a excellent motorcycle well put together with some nice design features I wasn't expecting much performance wise but the Meteor keeps up with traffic easily overtaking needs a. bit of planning I've recently taken to single cylinder Enfields they have character and charm other bikes don't The meteor engine is definitely more refined than the one in my Himalayan If I want to go motorway blasting I use my multistrada it's horse's for courses

As a Meteor owner I'm looking forward to someone figuring out how to disable the speed limiter (Tec Bike Parts say they are working on this 😊). While speed isn't why you purchase this bike, something just doesn't seem right about artificially limiting the bike's performance.

In Brasil they removed the speed limiter. The bike doesn't go much beyond 120kmph anyways. I love the bike, and I love that is a small long stroke engine that is economical and torquey for that reason.
@digitalsublime
@digitalsublime 2 жыл бұрын
In Brasil the limiter is gone and the bike went from 120kmph max to 125ish kmph max in most situations. Why? Because is a long stroke, and that gives torque and fuel efficiency in return for low max speed. Also it should have a longer lifespan at lower rpm. I think when they release the super meteor 650 many will move on to that. Me personally, I love the low cost ridding, I love to go for a long trip without thinking in a budget or worrying about next service or putting to many miles and loosing resale value. It's selling like hotcakes, seems my sentiment is shared by many.

Thinking about the limiter, it makes sense when you consider the warranty and reducing the likelihood of claims for engine parts. So, with that in mind, it should be able to do 80 miles per hour and still be operating within reasonable limits, the real limiting factor though, is coping with the increased wind pressure on the wrists, personally, I find that I'm most comfortable at about 60/65 mph, so the limiter doesn't bother me that much.

It's a nice little bike, but the low seat height puts too much strain on my 76 y.o. hip/knee geometry. The Meteor definitely needs another 10 mph, as there's not enough in hand for getting out of trouble or getting past things like road-trains here in West Australia. With the State speed limit at 110 kph (68.3 mph) and our bumpy roads, the margin for error is very small indeed.

I really would want the hunter version if and when it comes out. Although my 30 years old 500 will easily get to 100mph. In this day and age, a 350 should be able to easily keep 80 mph. Then there is a bit of power left over on motorways when you just need to accelerate past that truck or get out of the way of the car that is about to sideswipe you. ...

Limiting the speed for RE is one question that has not been answered by RE people. In today's technology and competition they are still not making their bikes go a bit faster which they can easily. 650 twins are good but with the big singles they can still do better with their top end.

@@RoadRashTV not really. Speed is something that is good to have when the need arise. May be sometimes one needs to cover distance a bit quicker but cannot cos of limitation of the engine. Like you, I don't know WHY RE went to the trouble of limiting speed. The laws of physics and aerodynamics would give this bike a PRACTICAL, real world speed limit of 80 mph (130 kph) or so anyway! Given that the bike has 20 hp and has the bad aerodynamics of a motorcycle or bicycle, it'd be hard pressed to go much past 80 mph (130 kph).

It is made keeping in mind the Indian road conditions where traffic compared to West is really different so giving it more horsepower would be really useless and plus traffic rules are not followed here in India and anybody can pop up from anywhere so there is not enough horsepower plus 350 cc is where it is optimal for Indian roads . I hope this helps

@@RoadRashTV I suspect there are a few factors. This was built for the Indian market where fuel efficiency is important - this is very much a mode of transportation for many parts of the world, not just a weekend putt-about. Also I think to make this engine Euro5 compliant they had to limit the revs. Without variable valve timing and it being air-cooled, the engine may produce too many particles (poorly combusted fuel) to meet the regulations.
