Royal Enfield Trials 500 : The offroading Bullet? : PowerDrift

Күн бұрынBullet Trials Works Replica is a homage to the Royal Enfield’s success in trials championships in 1950s. While competition spec trials bikes are usually light and minimal, Royal Enfield has given this one a rugged look with upgrades like an upswept exhaust, luggage rack, dual purpose tyres, handlebar cross brace, bash plate and so on. The engine and cycle parts have been lifted off the Bullet.
Powering Trials 350 is a carburetted 346cc engine developing 19.8bhp and 28Nm, while Trials 500 gets a fuel injected 499c powerplant, good for 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm.
It isn’t a limited edition bike like Pegasus, but Trials does cost around Rs 20,000 more than standard Bullet variants at Rs 1.62 lakhs for Trials 350 and Rs 2.07 lakhs for Trials 500. So are they worth this price?

I think the Himalayan still serves as a better offroader for the purpose the Trails came for. It would have been nice to see a longer front suspension, bigger rear sprocket, some weight shedding, more luggage carrying capacity and a switchable ABS. That would have made trials a step ahead from Himalayan 😊. And Varun said it right at 5:16 😊 Even said that no hates on this model. 😊

Always The Himalayan because when it was launched it was totally a new segment, the sense of freedom that you can take it anywhere is awesome. . It looked so promising leaving aside all it's past it's still the best pocket friendly capable off-roader would get one if it gets 650 engine 😍😍😍

I guess royal Enfield is cleaning up their garage . All the left over thunderbird chassis , mud guard and lights from continental GT, tyres from Himalayan engine from left of stock for 350 cc and Some wall paint !

Yes, Royal Enfield does sell you emotions. Frustration, Anger, Disappointment to name a few. Couple of things about your review: 1. No one corners on Bullets. Even the die hard RE fans would say the same 2. Even the actual ADV bikes on the market don't have such ridiculous exhausts. If anything, I would be afraid to mount my luggage as there is a high chance it could burn 3. The bike is too heavy to be a good off-roading machine. This is true however of most ADV bikes on the market. The first thumb rule of off-roading is to have to a lightweight motorcycle, I am there to have fun, not test how good I am with Squat-pushing the bike up 4. Engine refinement doesn't need a separate comprehensive review. You can feel those as soon as you start the motorcycle and rev it. 5. You get the Himalayan for the same price. Why would anyone buy this?

Himalayan is an adventure-touring bike, whereas this has more in common with scrambler bikes. Both have their advantages and disadvantages :)

I love this bike, it’s just a great looking design, It might not be as practical or refined as a Honda cb500x. But you don’t buy a bike like this For the same reasons or riding experience. If it comes to where I live in Canada I will probably Get one, I rode a classic 500 and enjoyed it for It’s simple rougher experience.

As far as adventure riding is concern, I would never leave my Himalayan . Best bike for the budget and it takes me wherever I want and whenever I want and this bike doesn’t disappoint (small breakdown sometimes ). If Royal Enfield comes up with 650cc with higher low end torque , they will dominant adventure segment across India . Cheers powerdrift

Of course the Himalayan That is one of the Royal Enfield signature motorcycle in the indian market. An affordable adventure tourer, a ride which doesn't give up on the rider or the road. And as the tag lines says built for road and no roads. The best part is when you let go of the tarmac and still feel the same. The smile that the ride brings on riders face as soon as you hit off road says it all.

As said royal enfield is not a brand, selling bikes but it is the emotions... i being a proud owner of RE standard 350 will always feel new and overwhelmed with joy everytime i hop on the metal horse.... being RE enthusiast is to be only by heart... the bullet vibrations while riding is always very pleasuring like recoiling of a gun...

i would really like to meet the person who sits in the Spare department, with the classic 350 and then give the job to reimagine how new models can be made with existing parts but by just painting them different colours. After Having made Himalayan the 650 twins, i was under the impression that Enfield had started making some sensible bikes. But alas, they want to paint old bikes and rename them to something new (eg Redditch edition, Stealth Black, Pegasus and so on) but keep the same rubbish mechanics. Which Enfield would i prefer you ask. Well, if they put a gun to my head then i would choose Interceptor 650.

I like RE classic 500 chrome which I own and now I m so interested in trails 500 too and I can change handle bar to cafe racer club man With bar end mirror with low seat brown leather combining same leather on tank strap with handle grip and remove all extra mud guards too look clean some cool customised trip machine leather bag 💼 on tank , front forks and one on rear tail light to make it into some real old time memories of ace London cafe biking .

I have customed my classic 350 by adding electra type fork gaiters and standard type handlebars to it in the royal Enfield service centre. Which is kind of same like this model, I found my bike more comfortable than it was before (stock). And this is what ROYAL ENFIELD is figuring out from customers ❤️

I've ridden the interceptor on a soaked road. Even though it's got semi-slicks, it felt confident. Easily the most manoeuvrable RE and a breath of fresh air for RE enthusiasts. A year ago, I also rode a bullet 350 in the rain at Kasol. TERRIFYING! The classic and the bullet series desperately need new engines. The amount of vibrations you get are just not acceptable in today's world.

I like this bike - good for improving low speed off road skills and technique before buying a larger capacity adventure bike. Harder to ride well off road than a Himalayan due to Trials weight and stiffer suspension.

This bike is made of Cl500 crome , old GT535 , old classic exhaust which wasn’t sold after BS4 Rule came the some himalayan parts and GT650/int650 fork gaiters they made a mixed breed from all the left over parts and pretending as the history repeated after 70 years . If i have to with RE I’d take CL350 black for pure motorcycling coz i hate lamda sensor upon exhaust in 500cc categories

The good thing is atleast this time RE didn't try to repackage the same old Classic or Bullet as a new motor cycle with a new paint job. This time atleast they took the trouble to move the exhaust to make something new. Both with Trials and Pegasus, they massively missed an opportunity to reduce the weight of the motorcycles. Original Pegasus was not a paint scheme of the bullet but an extremely light weight RE Motor cycle. They should have experimented reducing the weight with the Pegasus and then made a Trials bike out of it by moving the exhaust. That way they could have added 2 whole new RE motorcycles in the 350 cc line up, which for now bleeding its marketshare to Jawa. I wanted to buy the Pegasus if it really offered what the original Pegasus did, a dependable bike so light that it can be lifted by an healthy man.

I Would Prefer the TRIALS, because just look at them, they looks like to take a beating and still stand upright and muscular, and that dance rear end frame with swingarm just looks fantastic, funky and eye catching. The whole idea is about the trial competitions, and the legend about it. Truly they are selling emotions❤️

Enfield being a pride for most Indians is mainly due it’s manly looking bullets and classics bikes. It’s always happy to see RE working on new ideas on relaunching it’s own legacy, but to be honest Iam always a classic fan. Dupp dupp dupp 😍
