Royal experts react to Prince Harry Meghan Markle South Park episode | Palace Confidential. It’s been a tough week for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. After their lampooning on an episode of South Park they had to contend with the news their popularity has dropped in the US since the publication of Spare. This will not have been part of the plan, argues the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden. ‘He will have hoped that the publication of his book will have increased his popularity, it will have given the readers an insight and made him more popular,’ he tells Palace Confidential. ‘So the fact that it’s plummeting, really is interesting.’ The week’s developments highlight the challenges at the heart of the ‘Montecito Project’ - that’s the view of historian and broadcaster Dr Tessa Dunlop. ‘[Harry’s] outed himself as really a royalist, he can’t get away from it, he doesn’t want to blow up the institution, he says himself in interviews,’ she tells the programme. ‘So there’s this feeling of contradiction at the heart of his thesis - what’s it all about Harry? And I think he doesn’t even understand that. It’s very very hard to walk away from the Royal Family.’

Richard is practically beaming all through this episode, he's all of us after South Park aired. @@godisgoodallthetime3845 We’re sick for laughing at a cartoon? Isn’t that what we’re meant to do with cartoons 🤣🤣? There are two things that makes this episode extremely, first, it’s more accurate than their Netflix reality show and second, Meghan and all her fans completely lack a sense of humour and it’s entertaining to see them lose it over something so trivial (like you 😂). Kate’s episode wasn’t as pointed, mostly because they don’t lack self-awareness like the Sussexes do but I still hear, ‘strong in body, beautiful in face’ in that weird little voice and laugh.

@@SNOW.STORM30 Not going to read all that nonsense you wrote 😂😝. South Park is a fictional cartoon show and yes it’s meant for laughter. But you Britons want Americans to hate Harry and Meghan so bad that your country is trying to make it seems like it’s real news. What’s so sad is that now the UK media claims there is a“ poll” on their “popularity”? We can care less about nonsense like that. We are not part of the commonwealth. We are a republic since 1776 🙌🏾.

@@godisgoodallthetime3845 How are you relying a full paragraph without reading my response?? 🤣🤣🤣 GTFOH! Your whole reply is based on the assumption that my opinion is from a British perspective, I’m a Kenyan woman, they’re clown regardless of my country of origin. I have actual great black women to look up to, like the late great Wangari Maathai, Salif Johnson, Chimamanda Ngozi, Njoki Ndung’u and many more so the idea that I should be awed by a woman who’s claim to fame is marrying a party boy with an extensive racist history is laughable and should be a insulting to all black women who are expected to hold her as a hero. This is a very euro-centric opinion of blackness and what makes us great, we did not need to see a white passing woman who says with pride ‘I was never treated as a black woman’ or ‘I didn’t know what it was like to be black until I moved to the UK’ at 36+ as our hero! If your standard are in hell, leave me out of it ✌🏾!

I've waited 24 hours to write this comment. Richard and Rebecca are the dream team. Tessa Dunlop started off reasonably well but was back to her interrupting, shouting over Richard before too long, not saying anything of real substance or accuracy. I believe I caught a look of annoyance on Richards face at one time when she was talking. There is no doubt about it, the whole ambience of the programme changes when Tessa is on. I was looking forward to this week's programme but groaned on hearing her name, heartened at Rebecca's remark ' which is why I can't be with you this week '. There is no ' i ' in team and I am sure Richard would be fine on his own if there were no suitable team mates to be had. Half way through I skipped through all remarks from Tessa and found l could still comprehend the conversations. Apologies for the lengthy comment but please, programme makers, read the comments. Edit - just noticed Jo Elvin made a remark about Richard and Tessa Dunlop having an argument it seems. Sarcastic reply from her .... come on ! She's not really seen to contribute to the programmes content or the feel good factor. Why is she still allowed to be on ? There is a very clear sign of discontent when she is on.

What Tessa does not understand (or ignores) is the heart of Harry's problem is not the monarchy, or the Palace, or his father, or even Meghan - it's his insane jealousy of William. In Spare and the doc and the interviews and the paid for puff PR pieces that he puts out - everything is about William and Catherine. He attacks William, his job, his wife, his father his CHILDREN, even monetizes William's DEAD MOTHER. It's all completely irrational, insane jealousy - that Harry doesn't have the Kingship, Harry doesn't have the perfect wife, Harry doesn't have three children that are beloved, Harry doesn't get to walk into a room first, Harry doesn't get the sausages, Harry married a woman that is not only willing to take on William's wife - but is out to DESTROY her. Americans are starting to see the REAL Harry and Meghan - and it is not pretty. In fact, we're pissed off that we were duped by them.

Tessa Dunlop is so ill informed. There are examples of former royals living in America making a decent living without disparaging their families. Japanese Princess Mako for example who literally gave up everything to live a private life with her husband in New York. Princess Madeleine of Sweden, who is 7th in line to the throne and is about the same age as Harry, lives a quiet life with her husband and children in Florida. Ms Dunlop should do her research.

The problem with Tessa's argument is that the Earl and Countess of Montecito (as Dickie so well described) have failed to "shed" anything beyond his family. Had Harry shed all his titles when he came to the US he *might* have gained a measure of respect, but it seems that devolving to merely Harry & Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor is to high a price for their wokenesses.

It only does everyone a disservice to hire people for a job/role for which they are not suitable simply because they are the best option that also fits the diversity box. @@susanfisher606 Exactly, and this should apply to any quota. First see who are the most qualified for the job without any regards to sex, ethnicity, religion, etc. And if you have narrowed down the field to 2 or three equally qualified candidates, then you can consider other aspects to get a more diverse workforce. Just because you have X percent of people living in a country/area that are of a minority ethnicity/specific sex/or whatever, doesn't mean that there are also X percent of that type of people who are either suitable for a specific job or interested in doing this job.
