Nowadays you can take some sort of medication to get you through the ceremony of the funeral. Which I have done several times. There are many times later that you can weep, privately. Which I think most of us do., Even years later. There is no time restraint on grief. We all handle emotions Differently.

I know the pain Prince William and Harry felt when Princess Diana died. I lost my parents when I was a little kid, and I was bawling my eyes out at their funeral. Because that's what some people demanded, I think the queen should have stuck to her guns and kept the boys away from the public. It was public pressure that forced them back to London. I was devastated when she died. That whole week was surreal, watching Charles and her sisters go to Paris to bring her home, the crowds and mounds of flowers, and then the funeral. I’d guess that’s a “role” they’re taught from the time they are born? It’s all about Royal protocol. I would also guess that being a Royal doesn’t allow them to always be themselves when they’re in public. I don’t envy them one bit! I can’t imagine going through life constantly hiding behind the scripted facade. I also wonder if they ever lose sight of who they really are or were, unless you’re born into that way of life and just accept it? After awhile I suppose it becomes second nature to them & perhaps they no longer think about who & how they were before becoming a Royal. They play a difficult role in life, in my opinion anyway. I can’t imagine always having to be on my “A Game,” and enter the world each day looking like you’ve been in a salon for hours. Diana & Kate are pictures of perfection anytime we see them. They amaze me how put together they are 100% of the time!

I think Prince Charles looked sad; either that or he felt he needed to act grief-stricken? But I do believe he truly was grieving over the loss of Diana. She was a warm & wonderful human being. Most importantly, she was the loving, wonderful mother to their sons. I believe Charles and Diana were parents who dearly love their sons and the boys were the tie that bound them, even if the only tie.
