I guess I just enjoy hurting myself. I did it again... I bought a Rifle from Royal Tiger Imports. This time I picked up an Austro-Hungarian Mannlicher M1895 made at Steyr. This particularity M95 straight pull rifle came to the US from Ethiopia, in Africa, where it was left by the Italians at some point around The Second World War. The Stock is marked with a very faint AOI which stands for Italian East Africa. The rifle is in really rough shape but that's no surprise coming from RTI. Most of their milsurp rifles are in similar conditions. It is still chambered in the original 8x50R cartridge as opposed to most other M95's which were converted to 8x56R. This interesting piece of military history has had a very difficult life and I'm happy to have it in my collection even if it's not in the best shape.
Thanks for Watching!

I know a few people who bought from RTI and did the hand select option but made sure to use their cc card and when the rifle showed up not as asked for they tried to exchange them to no avail so they did charge backs and won. I would advise people to order with a customer friendly charge card and if you get hosed to charge back.

Overall looks good, love the grain in the wood as well. You probably already got them out, but for viewers that run into flathead screws in your condition... Helps to carefully cut a small slot into those buggered up screws with a hacksaw or dremel in order to get them out. Helped me remove some flathead buttplate screws in the past from antique rifles.

The M95 i got from RTI was actually in really good shape. the bore and stock is seriously superb. i think because they didnt have ammo for it lol. There is a little pitting but not bad at all. the rifling itself is very strong, like stronger than any of my other ww1 era mil surps! The only thing that was unfortunate about it was that the bolt body had quite a bit of rust. you could feel it. I smoothed it out with steel wool tho. oh and the firing pin threads were a little worn on ones side but it works ok still. I bought a bolt body for 13$ from Allegheny arsenal/mg34 and a firing pin for like 20-30$. I think i got that from apex parts. oh yeah as far as blueing only the tip of the barrel was somewhat white. the barrel bands were rusty and once i cleaned em they were completely white so i blued them to match

@@ReadinessReviews the standard bullet diameter used in the 8x50R Mannlicher is a .323, for the 240 grain round nose bullet, and the bullet had a hollow base to expand to grab the rifling when fired. The spritzer bullets which are boat tailed work really well and are accurate, but the diameter of the spritzer is .330. Thats the same spritzer they use in the 8x56R many of those rifles were converted to.
