That's so sad that Orlando Rogers was killed. Here, at 21, he shows a maturity beyond his years. He's successful at maintaining a proper emotional distance and closeness with the recruits, so that they feel they can rely on him, but they also respect his authority (No small feat considering most of the men are the same age as him, and even older than him in some cases). He's kind, warm, and shows genuine care for their progress--while helping them develop the mental grit and fortitude for the challenge ahead. What a bright young man, and such a sad loss. It's tragic to think of young men cut off before they have a chance to truly fall in love, marry, and start a family...

Love the "cheeky bastards" comment. Reminds me of a story during the battle of Waterloo - when the Duke of Wellington came upon a group of British soldiers to give them further orders. He noticed a wounded and dying soldier where the Duke exclaimed "you've been shot" and the soldier replied "All in a day's work, Sir". That doesn't mean neither that he is not capable nor genuine. He is!! But when he failed he basically admitted why he was crying. Missing his mates and how could he go back home. Unfortunately or not some jobs especially in the armed forces are very specific in their requirements. You can have a potential excellent fighter pilot that has eye sight problems. Or very fit soldiers that are bad in water. Many things can go wrong. But requirements are there for a reason. And this reason is to protect lives as much as possible!!
