Puccini’s opera of passion, friendship and heartbreak - one of the best-loved operas worldwide. Richard Jones’s recent production for The Royal Opera, adapted to accommodate safety regulations, perfectly captures the vulnerability of youth amid the harshness and glamour of a big city. Atmospheric designs by Stewart Laing evoke both the poverty of the bohemians’ attic home and the splendour of Paris’s shopping arcades on Christmas Eve.
The opera blends tragedy and comedy, the soulful and the spirited, into a powerful encapsulation of the intensity of life’s experiences.

COVID-19 lockdown and KZfaq brought me to ballet. Now I am hooked. I don't understand anything about the ballet but it is very pretty to watch, and it just amazes me that people can move like that. Watched a video that you can go to movie theaters and watch these performances. Didn't know that that was a thing. Does the ROH stream or do PPVs? I like that the performances are are just art and not ruined by woke nonsense.

@@catherinecozzano2580 Open your mind. The Royal Opera House and this channel isn't limited to opera. It includes ballet and other expressions. You know this. Why are you splitting hairs? What the world needs now is more love. I love you, even though I don't know you. Be cool.

Good on you! You might give opera a look too. Once you get what is happening, opera will blow your mind. Magic Flute is a great start...in original German. Then try Tosca. Best to you, Chris
