How to add WiFi streaming to an old amplifier that only has phono and optical inputs using the Arylic S10. Video shows the S10 unboxed and how to connect the cables to your amp and then setup the streamer on your WiFi network using the 4stream app. It also shows how to stream from your phone using the 4Stream app and how to stream from your PC using Foobar2000

Does your amp support multiple sets of stereo speakers? If not you could use a speaker switch like this one from Farnell cpc.farnell.com/e-audio/a097ba/high-power-stereo-speaker-switch/dp/AV29557 This was just the first speaker switch I found with a Google search .... I don't know if this speaker switch is any good!

I don't believe that the S10 can connect to a WiFi speaker for audio ... although I haven't tested this.

My god, I’ve never seen anyth8ng so convoluted just to listen to listen to some music. I’ve been thinking of finally moving out of my vinyl , cd system b7t everything I read is a mass 9f technical terms ,apps , specific terms used only on that particular product . , formats , passwords , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth , apps , foobar (?) UPNP devices , poutput preferences UPNO , THE APPS NAME FOR THE S10 , which is different from the other name , etc etc etc etc , no thanks , I’ll buy a cd put it in and press play .

I have got a big vinyl and CD collection and my turntable and CD player are still connected to my amp .... but I never listen to vinyl or CD these days. I stream my music collection on random play from computer as shown in the video ... I agree that it is complicated to setup but once it is working it is so much better ... There is the obvious benefit of not having to get up to change a CD or vinyl when it comes to the end. The other benefit is that on random play I listen to music that I would never choose if I was scanning through my albums deciding what to play next. When looking through my albums deciding what to play next I tend to choose from a small number of favourite albums ... so there are albums I would never listen to!!! ... as well as albums that are worn from too much listening!!! I listen to music while working from home so there are the other benefits such as volume control, stop, start etc from the computer that I am sat in front of while working. So for me streaming music is so much better than vinyl or CD ... and it is worth the effort of setting it up 😀

Thanks for the reply, I’m not a music or vinyl snob bot having the sonic bat ears to differentiate much of the differences between streamed music and vinyl etc , so I’m moot averse to tech . It’s just so incredibly complicated that i cannot tell what is good or not , because the language is of its own world . The reviews don’t help me much either as one finds then that there are endless intricacies endlessly debated , endless different tech one needs that is then not suited for other tech , if I even know the tech they speak about . So I’m envious and I’m sure it can now reproduce great sound and the ability to access an infinite amount of music is amazing , I still think we gain in some ways but miss out in others , the simplicity is one , where I can delve into the technicalities if I wish but it isn’t necessary to know anything to be able to listen to music I love . An example, is I was interested in the Cyrus One, then the HD, then the Cyrus Cast ,but it does something’s well , not others at all , some is not streamed as well as,other another format airplay is better than Bluetooth etc, or is it ,,I don’t know , or the long list of letters and acronyms in every description of the product that means absolutely nothing and so many have other ,mdifferent letters and acronyms . It’s become tedious and leaves me full of doubt and when soend8ng thousands of pounds on something I am unsure is even any good or is immediately obsolete and updated , forcing me to buy another product because the old one is not supported longer than a few years etc .then it’s much as I really want to access. All the worlds sounds , I probably won’t and will stick to the fewer artists now who do release vinyl or even CDs plus a lot of the music I like now is perhaps very obscure even in its day and maybe not so appealing to the Spotifys of the world ? It’s a world'of frustrations now where ease of access has become stress to download , passwords, keychains , etc etc that takes many times longer , fails to reward in the same ways and has us chained mentally and physically to 0s and1s and their devices . Maybe someone will devise a way to download all the info into my head , I know Elon has been working on this , brave new world indeed ! To @@Helpful-Stuff

I agree with a lot of what you say ... it should not be so complicated!!! I think it is complicated because the pace of technical development is so fast that its impossible for consumers to keep up ... either understanding the details of the technical development or by buying the equipment that supports each new development. A consumer would need extremely deep pockets to buy a gadget and then buy a new version of the gadget when it inevitably gets superseded a few months later. (It would also be extremely bad for the environment !!!) My personal way of handling this is to always invest in a top of the range gadget in the hope that even though it will be superseded in a few months it will still be a pretty good gadget for many years. I don't like to generate a lot of gadget waste so I when I buy something I will still use it for years ... as long as it will still do what I bought it for. The most extreme example of this is that in about 2002 I bought an expensive CRT TV ... just before the price of flat screen TVs started to drop. I read loads of reviews and the TV I bought was the "Best Buy" by several magazines because of the picture quality. This TV is still my main TV today !!!! I have had to buy a set top box to receive Freeview because it only receives old analogue TV. But it works ... why should I bin it? So I have one foot in your camp ... but I also have a foot in the other camp with state of the art gadgets.

I also saw a post by the man from Cheshire Audio where he mentions why he doesn’t stock streamers in his shop . How artists and music is suffering by the dominant format and low pay that musicians recieve from their music being streamed . One woman musician received onl I believe it was , 0.006 th of a cent for each stream . Meaning she would have to have over 6 million streams to recoup the £25,000 it cost to produce the record , and that’s before she earns any income for her work ! It reminded me of the slave wage contracts musicians would sign for the big recording companies . She spoke of how she drives an old car, if her boiler brake she has to finance it in credit card etc while the music press write of her worth being £6 million ! It seems most musicians apart from the big names , are struggling and it is making music not worth being able t9 be pursued for a living when the return is so low . He also made the point that our immediate access to all music has also lowered our enjoyment of it , we flick from track to track and the often difficult first listen music that grows on us and rewards us greatly and for longer , is becoming lost amongst the bland easy listening tunes designed to catch the ear with a hook . I suppose again, it’s the consumer culture , immediate access demand and we lose that memory of place, people and a moment that one can experience in the time we would take to seek out a great song or band , wait to get home and excitedly out it on the turntable or even CD player . Perhaps it’s why there has been a resurgence in vinyl and also now CD sales ? The format gives us the time to appreciate the art and craft and creativity of musicians far more than the click, swipe, click, swipe ,etc . I want musicians to be rewarded for their craft as do most people and it’s why the Napster type apps were so unethical , but now we seem to be in a similar place of low reward and fast food style music . I recognise the xcitementmof having a world of music available at our fingertips without even leaving home , but is this what art is about ? @@Helpful-Stuff
