The song's history probably stretches as far as the 19th century, however it was first recorded and edited in the 20th, finding its way to use by the Makhnovists later. The song was then used by the Red Army and made popular by the 1939 Soviet film Tractorists.
Kalyna is a flower, which translated to Guelder rose or Viburnum in English, however it didn't feel right to write either in the song as they didn't sound fitting. The song in English also translates to Unharness, the horses, boys.
There MAY be lyrical differences between the original text and the song as some pronounciations are different in this record, for example original text calls for коні while here is a very distinctive коней, and i didn't want the lyrics to not fit the song itself, because that's the whole point of the lyrics, so i altered them according to how it is in the record.
