This road train is not legal for normal use on Swedish roads, but has a special permit to move containers around in Gothenburg harbour, it does so on a daily basis since 2012. It uses stretches of public road to do so, this is the longest road train on limited stretches of public road in Europe, and no its not only empty boxes, but loaded as well. Total weight can be up to 200t. Found the information in an online trucking magazine

Cabover semis over here in the USA🇺🇸 are rare nowadays. Back in the 1980s & down, we use to have a mix of cabover & conventional cab semis. When the law over here increased the length limit, the number of cabover semis decreased & more conventional cab semis took their places.

@@CruelQuertos I-Shift is only automated transmission, it still has dry clutch plate for move offs although it works automatic without clutch pedal. @StaffordMagnus5 жыл бұрын
@@dolph8551 What I was wondering about is whether the dolleys have some sort of 'self-steer' system to correct the insteer that each successive dolley and trailer has when following the one in front. If not and they're just 'dumb' dolleys same as we use here in Australia, I guess they just track close due to having a short drawbar. Short drawbars are good for urban environments and low speeds but we tend to use long drawbar dolleys as they're more stable at highway speed - they drag much wider around bends of course, but fortunately we have plenty of space. :)
@111jacare5 жыл бұрын
Stafford Magnus, suggest you take note of the rear over hang that is on the back of each of those trailers. Because the pivot point for the trailer group is a fair way forward, this has the effect of drawing the ringfeder / VBG coupling further away from the apex of the corner, thereby allowing the dollies to track nearer to true behind the trailer group in front. Add to the fact that the driver swings into the turns at the last second, this also assists with getting the unit around a corner.
