Quick and fun interior time lapse framing inside a post frame for you. In this video we frame the interior of a recently finished project for an office, bathroom, and upstairs mezzanine. If you would like more info or specific questions ask them in the comments and I will do the best to answer them in the next build series where we build an entire barndominium.
If you want to check out the barndominium plans, or plans to build something similar to this, check out my plan page. All plans are highly detailed and showcase the way we build them.

The exact video I needed to watch. Thank you! Yes, please make something like a normal speed video addressing planning considerations for combining shop & living quarters. Your other videos have already provided valuable design tips & features for us to keep in mind.

I've seen videos with a kind of fold-out set of stairs. They lay flat to the wall, and just pull out when you need them. My only concern would be how sturdy they are over time. Also not sure if they'd meet code.

I have been watching your videos for a couple years now. You do great work. One thing that just popped into my head now. You have the right tools for the job. There is a lot to be said for that. Go onto a construction site and watch a guy waste time figuring out how to do it without the right tools, the money spent on the correct tools is well worth every penny.

Kyle, you sold the post frame idea to me a long time ago- all the original effort and material are headed to achieve a dried in space- once the envelope is complete, all your work and materials are "inside" and out of the weather. Later, if extra children come, or you need different space, move the walls to suit the new need- the roof will wait in place, space expansions are "modular" and predictable. And you have well proven there is plenty of trim and tactic to avoid the "plain square box" problem. The plumber in me just adores the "plumb and square" nature of the thing, too! FR

An inspiring book with lots of ideas for a variety of garden buildings The instructions are detailed and clear with plenty of photos. As a beginner kzfaq.infoUgkxlg1H4xyrEBR03VoimQHdPx6Ebmzrr0nO I was looking for a manual that would walk me through the basics with detailed instructions and this book does just that. The book caters to both the beginner and more experienced DIY enthusiast with builds varying in complexity, from straightforward projects such as the one we've completed, to more ambitious builds. Absolutely on trend, with instructions on how to install solar panels, green roofs and sweet chestnut shakes - It's given me lots of ideas for future projects!

I think I'm going this route too. The barns are all metal exterior, well insulated and spacious. With the interior outside walls insulated, no sun beating in the summer or north winds in winter, HVAC would be cheap. T-111 exterior would last forever.
