I think you shouldn't assume that the company was "caring and wholesome" because they were nice to a KZfaqr they were paying to do an ad... In fact, you should never assume that a company cares about anything except their bottom line, especially a big company like Blizzard. The problems that were (and, realistically, still are) present there are rampant in the game industry and that needs to change.

A sextant is a device used for celestial navigation. It measures the angle between a star and the horizon. For example, if you were to view the north star and the horizon, and the angle was 90 degrees, you're most likely in the north pole. It's mainly used on ship navigation to estimate latitude but obviously we have GPS now. If you're not using the north star, you'll also need the time of day as the Earth's rotation would cause the star to appear in different places.

“You have to beat the Plague Lords over multiple runs” While this is a valid route to take, it is not only feasible but also quite easy to deal over 200 damage to a plague lord in a single run. Sometimes you will get very unlucky, but the very first time I played I was able to smash the Murloc boss without any issue. I would assume it’s possible for each hero and plague lord, but I’m not entirely sure.

for the sextant you just need to be able to see the horizon and the north star, you line them up and read the angle to find latitude, then after moving a certain amount of distance (i dunno the specifics) you can measure the change and calculate longitude

Broke the final boss on chapter one on my first fight with him by complete luck. Had the random missile power, a minion that doubles power damage/healing, and a card to fill the board with 1/1 copies of him. Dealt 128 per shot after that, which repeats every death so it just kept going until the board cleared.

A sextant essentially gives you the angle from the horizon to whatever you are looking at. Most commonly used during the age of sail and less commonly now by mariners to navigate using celestial bodies. Combine it with a nautical almanac for the current year, do some funky math, and boom: you have your current latitude and longitude. I don't remember exactly how it works, but I believe you look through the telescope-looking lens at the star or planet, then move something until the little mirror thing shows the horizon lined up with a marker; then somewhere on the device it gives you the declination (I think that's it) which you can use with the almanac to find your position. I know that's really vague, but it should make more sense with the actual device in your hands.
