Comment from a chap called Bernard (thanks Bernard!) - "There is a free, open source, RTK network based in France but that accepts mount points from anywhere. Have a look at docs.centipede.fr which is run by INRAe a French reseach institute on agriculture, food, environment. There are also details about how to make your own mountpoint based on a Rapsberry PI, how to register it on the network, how to make a rover station, etc. There is also a live map with the hundred or so stations, currently mainly in France & Hungary (I've no idea why Hungary ;-)) There are two mount points in the UK at the moment."

RTK is so interesting - it's not something I can afford just yet but I love these videos showing something that's cutting edge.

Thank you for covering this. Autonomy is fascinating to some of us, and this opens a new treasure trove of possibilities.

Nice video. In the US (Florida) NTRIP RTK corrections are available all over the state for free, run by the govt. Virtually everyone is within a reasonable distance of a fixed base station (I'm 8km away). For "float" NTRIP, accuracy is still quite good up to 80km from a fixed base location.

seems convenient for a closed system (operations within the 60km range) but outside that?

do you need RTK? You do if you are driving an r/c truck with ArduRover.
