Hey Painless I purchased a used Taranis QX7S to replace my Taranis QX7 and I removed the SD card from the previous owner and I inserted my SD card from my radio and I don't see my models but I do see the last owners models. How do I get the QX7S to recognize my SD cards models? Thanks in advance! 👍✈️

Thank you. I've used your information to build and mod an OMP M2 heli with the Zeus Micro Vtx and the CADDX 'BABY' Ratel on taller 3D printed landing skids. I'll try to upload a video to YT in the future. Putting this FPV gagetry on something other than drones is quite something! Thank you from the USA.

Great review video, and I totally agree that the RDV2 is a solid all around plane. It is one of the favorites of the COFPV crew out in Colorado, because it is so easy to launch, even at high altitudes (9000'). I like flying mine with a 4S 5000 maH lipo, but it also works well with my 4S2P Molicel 21700 9000 maH pack for longer flights.

Hello, I am trying to make a fixed wing UAV. via Task Planner When I selected the aileron and elevator options it wasn't turning fast enough. I played with min-max-trim settings but I didn't get any results. It spins faster when I connect it to a port like RC5. What settings do I need to change to rotate the wings? I am providing power from the BEC output of the ESC. Could this have something to do with this?

Mostly with the power distribution. You need more than two power outputs and (for larger models) may end up having to bypass the PDB built into this flight controller completely. Check out my VTOL builds on the channel. Happy flying!

I also use the XTAR 1.5V cells. I have a couple of battery powered wall clocks which need a higher voltage than NiMH LSD cells (Eneloop, etc) can deliver. So, I've been burning throiugh alkaline cells until now. Very happy. One application where the Xtar cells fails is in my old Sony portable radio. The switching regulator inside each cell makes enough electromagnetic noise to interfere with the radio - particularly on AM bands (LW, MW, SW). I also use the Xtar's in my rear bike lights but I'm conscious that they will fail without warning when they're out of juice. On the whole, I'm very pleased.

I got this FRSKY 20S and I wanted to program this thing so I could fly my RC model here in my ranch. not to fly a SpaceX or NASA rocket into orbit. Cause im not a rocket scientist… I’m gonna return this transmitter tomorrow. This is just a bad nightmare. Couldn’t even find those menus. Very frustrating to try to switch to this radio brand. What’s the best brand ? The old one JR that works wonders. Not going thru this.
@Painless3602 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear you've struggled. FrSky do seem to be targeting non FPV pilots who love fixed wing and are coming from JR, Spectrum and brands like Jeti. Sadly they don't provide the same backup as those other brands.. I like radios from RadioMaster running EdgeTX but they can appear tricky to setup to a new owner, I do have lots of videos to help on those though...

@Painless3602 күн бұрын

Hello, I have a SpeedyBee F7V3, a TBS TANGO2 and a TBS Crossfire Nano Pro. Connected everything to the VIFLy switch and attached the SBUSS to the RX (also tried TX) of the receiver. Set up channel 7 on my TBS Tango to switch D. The video transmission of a camera is also OK. But I can't switch. What could that be?
@Painless3603 күн бұрын
TBS output configured for sbus? What troubleshooting have you done already?
@delapoza13 күн бұрын
I connected the cameras as explained in your video. Except for the cable for the 'SBUS Signal Input Pad', which I tried piggypacking to the SBUS cable as in CurryKitten's video 'ViFly Cam Switch'. But because I have a TBS Crossfire with CH1 & CH2, I connected it to the CH1 > RX. In Betaflight the Sbus is set to UART2. In the receiver tab you can see that everything is working. The switch is connected to AUX3.

Wow ok. Seems like the current sensor on my old FC really was utterly f*ed if it draws 50A at full throttle for you, I remember mine drawing about 80A with the same stock 1800kv 7x4x3s. Could never get it to cruise below “12A” according to that FC. I knew it was overreporting but not by that much 😅 Definitely agree with the lack of yaw authority, and when I tried adding a bit more with differential thrust once it did not like that. I would actually disagree with your acrobatic rating though. At least with the throws I had it set up with it would do full rolls in like a second and could do really tight loops and turns. It’s also one of the most locked in models I’ve ever flown, more stable than the dolphin imo. A really great model indeed, though I do still prefer my dolphin, mostly for the higher cruise speed
@Painless3603 күн бұрын
I think it was your post that made me reconsider my use of LI-ION for the initial flight. Yours was definitely over-reading from the sounds of it (and my expewr4ince with this one here).
@y.decimal3 күн бұрын
@@Painless360 Haha yes, Li-Ion would probably suffer with the stock setup. I wonder how well some 6045 or 6050 bi blades would do to reduce max current draw and increase cruise speed a little though, might be a way to use it with Li-Ion and maybe get >60 minutes flight times. Then again that might not provide enough thrust for reliable launches, hard to say. Great review though, I am tempted to buy one again now :)
