In that too, they want people to play it on High settings (in High settings, game will be under 8GB vram limit). In Ultra settings, the game will exceed the 8gb vram limit (when u have enabled HD textures), especially in Far Cry 6 and Last of Us, where u need 11gb vram at 1080p. They really messed this up very badly. At best, this card would have been very good as a 4050ti.

Yeah i also recently got cheap 3060ti its just amazing, i dont rly care about having like 200 fps, i use 144hz monitor and always use riverstatistix to force fps to 72 ( games feels much smoother if the refresh rate can be divided by fps count) , games are super smooth and temps are always super since it reduces stress on cpu and gpu

You don't have to spend that much. I used to play a lot of videogames back in the day and spent 800 or so on a 1080 ti. There are already hundreds of 6700xt benchmarks. With that aside I'm pretty sure you will be satisfied with the performance.

I've bought that card recently and I must say, if u can afford it, take it right away. RX 6700 XT is a really good card right now. Even the Non XT which is 6700 with 10GB of Vram would be a great option for the money, but it depends on the prices.

You should consider the 6700xt as well, decent gpu that performs like the 3060ti at around $330

If your sister only wants to play games then get her a amd gpu, better price for better value. Like a 6600. Maybe a full AMD Machine to have the best performance for the best price.

@@plasmahvh true as a gtx 960 owner and 1080p gamer I think that the 4060ti 16gb might be overkill. and by the time the 4060 goes obsolete it wont be solely because of a vram limitation. the 70/80/90 models at best give you a year or two more out of the cards. the architecture and technology bump will force you to upgrade regardless.

Ampere (3000 series) wasn't a big jump because Nvidia was using Samsung 8nm node, which was inferior to TSMC's 7nm (that's why AMD was even beating 3090Ti in some cases). And the "4050" beats 3060 because now Nvidia is using a vastly superior node (TSMC's 5nm called 4N) so the architectural jump is absolutely massive

It's because of vsync, if I enable it it locks the FPS, can't benchmark with locked FPS. It happens because I record with a capture card so the performance doesn't drop when recording. Most other youtubers doing this use software recording and that's why they don't have screen tearing, the problem is that in some games software recording can drop frames like crazy, I've seen up to 30% drops by using shadowplay, that's why I decided to buy capture cards for this.

Flash your motherboard biosto ryzen 5000 compatible then get ryzen 7 5800x3d or ryzen 7 5700x3d then get a gpu with more than 8gb vram. I don't recommend 8gb vram gpu in 2024.

Im struggling with the exact same questions and I have GTX 970....though im thinking is 8GB vram at this point really "future proof"..and by that I mean we both are in same situation clearly where we want our GPUs to last as long as possible without having to upgrade it, so we are talking about atleast 7 to 8 years longevity for 1080p gaming. The problem is, I cant seem to find 3060 12gb anywhere at good price point where I live and ordering it from elsewhere would then cost more even with discounted price because of shipping costs. 4060 ti would offer better performance than 4060 but again there is that question of how "future proof" 8GB vram is. Thats why Im just tiny bit leaning to wait for couple more years till RTX 50 series is launched and then see if there is good price-performance value GPUs available from that Nvidia series like GTX 970 really was or if the prices of some of the higher performance RTX 40 series GPUs have come down enough. Either way since there arent THAT many games yet that I would really like to play on PC that require better hardware that I currently have (I mainly play older games on PC + RTS games) the only exception being Baldur's Gate 3 and perhaps Company of Heroes 3, it all comes down to me thinking "do I really, honestly need the upgrade now, or can I wait for 2 more years?" And while on other hand my PC is becoming increasingly more slow (no SSD even so those start ups are often painfully slow) perhaps I can just bite through and deal with for 2 more years. Then atleast I could go for that 12GB GPU. But ye if you go for 8GB Gpu, then 4060ti doesnt seem a bad choice and im really on the fence whether to go for it or not, but I can wait for couple more years tbh

It's better to wait and buy everything at a discount. I also have an rtx 2070 which still does very well even with ray tracing at 1080p. The rtx 4060 is a great upgrade considering the upside of the technology implemented. If you have the cash to pay 300 plus for a gpu and just want 1080p gaming, it's not worth it unless you really want ray tracing and DLSS 3. In my opinion, you would still be better off with an rtx 2080 or an rtx 3060 for the vram based on price.😮
