It broke me when Brok died, but what hurt me even more was seeing how it destroyed Sindri. Seeing the friendly and quirky dwarf become angry and bitter in the wake of his death is just heartbreaking. With Brok, Sindri was whole, he finally had his brother back again. Now he's gone all Sindri has left is a giant hole in his life where his brother should be and he resents everyone for it. It's harrowingly real projection of grief and how it changes you in the worst of ways if you let it.

I think it was him being mad at himself. He is in grief but he already lost his brother once. And now he not only lost him twice but Brok himself told him to let him go. He is so mad not at Atreus (at least Boi didn't meant to bring Odin in their home and definitely didn't want him to kill Brok, all of them was tricked by Odin) but maybe at Brok or himself.

Yeah. Just the writers bringing the words and the voice actors bringing the feeling to those just made this game something else. I havent played the games (not much of a gamer) but watching the cinematic videos put together and getting snippets of talks inbetween just shows how much love and care they gave this franchise. They knew the first games and rather than retcon or whatever they chose to have Kratos grow up. and the storylines followed. it opened the world to other forms of love and heartbreak and reasons to fight and even the choice not to. The last two games were fucking masterpieces even with their fee problems.

As a musician i followed the Dwarfs' theme very closely. The main melody was played during the eating scene. Very happy, whimsical and fit the overall mood. Then it returned while Atreus was trying to talk to Sindri, but it got DARKER. The cello was soooo on point and the higher strings gave it the support to make it sound truly heartbreaking. And it matched Sindri's broken heart and rage as he mourns his brother's death. And we come to the Viking Funeral, played on a traditional instrument, and then the other instruments and voices kicked in. That's when the theme came full circle. Giving Brok a viking sendoff, while Sindri is still enraged and probably wont forgive Atreus and Kratos for a very long time. This..... was absolutely well done!!!

Looks like Santa Monica Studio actually researched the Norse's concept of a soul, like how it is made up of parts, never once I expected "Fylgja" to be uttered, the guardian spirit, typically in a form of an animal that shares the host's attributes in life. Without it, who could have guided Brokr's soul to the afterlife? His soul was not whole, and so is his end.

The moment where i noticed Sindri Wasnt wearing gloves, working the sword with bare hands was fucking painful. Truly everything about him was gone. Replaced with emptyness. Truly showed how different he is afterward. it honestly felt like staring into a mirror, I've lost a lot of people in these last year and a half. Looking back on how i was before, and after. I feel so different. Broks death, and sindri's grief hit so hard because it felt like staring into a mirror. Its been a while since a games made me feel like this, not since RDR2.

That's true. "Tyr" could have actually led them to Asgard, revealed himself to be Odin, and possibly have the entire crew imprisoned and executed. If this is all true, then Brok pretty much saved the entirety of the nine realms, as without Kratos, Freya or any of those gods, the war of Asgard could never have possibly been won.

Back when Kratos entered Helhiem for the first time to save his son and being forced to use the Chaos Blades once more. Back when Atreus fell ill to the point where it nearly killed him, thanks to Modi Back when we first met him, and after he upgraded the axe for the first time All these things you said, plus my own quotes, Brok was there for us. He was a Smith, he was a funny blue dwarf with a mouth, a team player, a badass NPC, and something Kratos only called a few we all can agree on... Brok was his friend... our friend... Brok was the GOAT (Guy Of All Time). Brok was the kind of friend that has your back no matter what, a friend that means well in his own way, and a friend that can call bullshit where nobody can see it... even if it got him killed... thanks to that bastard the All-Fucker. Something I saw somebody else mention on another video: "Raeb's Lament is even more heartbreaking when you get to the end, and the brothers' theme comes back in, but out of time, lingering, and disjointed." Almost as if the theme itself is lacking direction just like the missing part of Brok's soul...truly genius and heartbreaking. Chills every time the choir starts...

GoW 4 started with a funeral, and Ragnarok ended with one. Kratos well understood grief, you can see his love for Faye still reminiscing in his eyes, to which he opened his heart to the entire world. Sindri on the other hand is now dealing with it, and while his love for Brok is very clear, it's also clear he chose a path to shut out the world.

Ngl I feel for Brok, I loved his character a straight shooter. Even Kratos calls him a friend a rare acknowledgement.
