In 1635, King Charles I asked his friend, Peter Paul Rubens to adorn the Banqueting House at Whitehall Palace with a vast mural cycle glorifying the Stuart dynasty.
The lecture will discuss the importance and impact of Rubens on English culture and society.

I was unable to find any information on the "orgy of destruction" mentioned @55:15 in this lecture. Who was this Clatworthy that destroyed the works of art in the House Chapel?

A very informative lecture, but it was embarrassing the way he attempted to shoehorn Brexit into his conclusion, presumably to attempt a rhetorical flair that would tickle the ears of his tony London audience. It is, as the saying goes, not only not right... it's not even wrong.
