Balloteli was always overhyped. Hype far exceeded talent with him, and till now the unfounded myth that he could have been one of the greats still persists. He had a penchant for the occasional wonder goal which people translated to being exceptional talent, but he was never anything special. Crowned as the heir to likes of Zamorano, Ronaldo and Adriano at Inter before he had even kicked a ball, when in reality his ceiling was much lower.
