This and frieren are probably the best/most important anime in over 5 years.

I have a huge hunch that they will actually animate this way later on in the anime. Like now that I get a feel with how the anime is handling this show, I could see this being turned into like a flashback scene. And I have an idea where they might put it as well. Gonna buy vol 1-21 of the LN. Honestly after listening to your videos on Mushoku Tensei, I feel like I'd be losing such a huge part of what makes Mushoku special if i don't read the source material. Although i cant afford the actual legitimate copies, i can at least buy reprints for 1/6 of the original price. That said, it's interesting to note that chapters like this is quite hard to be adapted. It makes sense to change POVs in the LN but how would they pull this off in the anime? They did it wonderfully with Fitz and Rudy but I feel like an abundance of POV change would make the pacing of the show not as snappy as it is right now. Maybe if they extended the season by a few episodes then they could've adapted things like Zenith's POV in family meeting or this side story. Things like character monologues and updates on what's happening to the other casts of the show can only be known by reading the novel, that's why I really salute you for making these videos and letting us anime only's know about the amazinh details that are left out. Can't wait for your next Mushoku Sundays. See ya (P.S. I think the king dragon Borders the conflict zone. So how in the death god is a defensive measure. They shouldn't have skipped him meeting his auntie. As even minor characters have a way of reappearing

Whoa, the Death God! I totally missed that part, that guy is totally one of my favorites of the side characters.

As anime-only viewer of your cut content. It just seems like foreshadowing for the Dragon Kingdom wanting to invade and expand into the weakened Asura Kingdom. Which you've mentioned in stories about why it's important for Ariel to take the throne and strengthen the weakened kingdom.

When i was reading Japanese version of the novel there were no side stories at the end of each volume. Instead they were all put together in the separate volume that was published after the story was resolved. After knowing that few tought (spoiler free;): most of these side stories were funny tidbits that were adding some flavour to the story but weren't especially importnant world building wise. (They were helping in understanding and liking characters better). Some more: when i was reading the side stories after knowing the whole story I have a thought that they were (instead of being written as the story was progressing) added at the end to make to story feel more fullfiling. I can't say if it was really the intention. And don't know why they are adding them in each volume in the English version, but not in Japanese.

God I loved reading this so much. It got me laughing harder than i had in a while. Wish they animated it yho.

I've only read the webnovel, so I don't know if things develop quite the same way in the light novel, but in the WN at least, we do meet the Death God again, and we do find out why he has that title. It's quite a long ways off, though.

That’s crazy because this would’ve been a great “filler” episode. Of all the other “slice of life” arcs that they do, this would’ve been a great twist episode.

This isn’t a spoiler. I just don’t want you to keep on worrying about something that doesn’t exist. This wasn’t some sign he grew stronger, or some crazy plot twist. This is just seven seas being seven seas. He’s number 5 and stays number 5 throughout the main mushoku tensei story. You have plenty of theories (that I can tell you are right or wrong but obviously won’t) that are entertaining and have viable reasons to be believed. This isn’t one of those. Just one of the many seven seas typos

One thing I've been wanting to point out that you often do (and you didn't do it here, I don't think but did in your new MM video but can't comment there), is criticize what Rudy thinks from a very Western perspective. Either you don't usually remember at the time that Rudy is Japanese (and his current world is kinda even worse about those things) or you don't know enough about the culture (or at least the troupey culture as it's disseminated to the West via Japanese entertainment).

Ater Pax is shiped off to the Dragon Kingdom as a punishment for the incident with Rudeous and taking all his servants families hostage, Pax grows more mature in the Dragon kingdom, proves himself to them, and falls in love with one of their princesses. Pax is then gifted the death god as a guard to aid him in taking the throne of the Shirone Kingdom.-
