Agreed. But it's also easy to do in a Citro'ën C3 Picasso. The air intake is really far back in there, it's even behind where the front windscreen ends. Only thing that could make it better would have been if it had hydraulic suspension as well. Alas... 😕

@Will.J Haha yep, so I live in a private road that ends at a lake with no way to exit other than going back up the road you came from. The package courier stopped in front of my house, jumped out* delivered something to my Neighbor, drove off, passed my house again and then went on a 10 Mile trip through the village just to then say "Couldn't be delivered". He has to jump in to my front yard to exit the van as the road is too tight to open the door any other way.

@@dylanlobban1627 That's not necessarily the intake, most cars have a grille there to catch leaves and rain water before it goes into the engine bay. A lot of cars also take the air for the aircon/heater there as well. Many cars take the air for the engine in the bumper or front grille, but a lot of PSA cars with the 1.2 turbo petrol or the latest gen HDI engine take the air for the engine there as well.

I was always taught to go REALLY slowly in a flood but try to keep the engine revs up if you can too (to prevent water ingress via the tail pipe. This is more difficult in an auto transmission vehicle though). I do think it’s a bit nasty of people not to warn people especially as there doesn’t appear to be a Road Closed sign either!
