It's not about the amount of games. It's like a mini Lions tour. You get to focus on just one team for that month. Also, as a Saffa, winning an entire series in NZ would be right up there with winning the WC

I totally agree that these games will lose their meaning as well as there being player issues with game management workload.

Its an opportunity to build depth and test players ahead of the world cup. I think its genius, and beneficial to both nations. ABs can rotate against the franchises, and non bok players get a chance to play against the ABs with their clubs. Steel sharpens steel. I love you Wildkard, but im not concerned about how this affects Australia ahead of a home world cup.

I actually think this is a terrible idea after thinking about it. Cos the 2 teams already play twice every year an additional 2 games every 4 years is a bit of an over kill

These tours were great because the provincial teams (now URC or Superrugby teams) get to play against test sides. Munster will always boast of beating the All Blacks in 1978 for example.

@@Wildkard then we should tour together. The aussies and the kiwis. Two weeks in each country. First week aussies play them then the next week the kiwis then we move on. One week to get on the smash! a live update, some bonding, some parties, a weekly tv show, make a thing of it. Rugby has always been about the bonds and they are losing that now and with it, they lose the star power of the players as we dont know the guys. So get two teams to travel around together, train together and play countries. Id tune in to watch it and see the stories come out.

In my head it might be southern touring teams that lose out, mostly NZ tours north every 2nd year and has northern teams touring here on alternate years. It could be terrible, i dunno, i do miss confronting all the SA teams as well tho, damn you super rugby. As a person not overly invested other than in watching, I did like the touring games of my childhood.

This SA Rugby and NZ Rugby will hopefully use to put back into the Sport to grow it and to make it even more competitive...
