i have the same exact rifle in 6.5 CM, and i started getting jamming problems after 30 rounds. Magpul says the PMAG 5 AICS mags supplied with this rifle do not work reliably with 6.5 CM. They recommend only 308/7.62 NATO, or 243, or 260, or 7 mm 08. Some people online reported defective feed ramps inside the receiver that might also be a cause of feeding jams.

Pete would you opt for a 22 or 24in barrel for a 6.5 creed if it's being used for deer stalking with factory ammo

I'm undecided between buying the RA predator with the slightly lighter 22" barrel and fitting the Magpul stock or buying the hunter... It would work out to be very similar overall costs, and I think it would be a better compromise for hunting and target with the longer barrel and lighter weight... Any thoughts on this after using the hunter?

That extra 2" of tube would not go amiss and probably add another 75/100 fps to general velocity and energy figures, which is no bad thing in a Creedmoor. I'm not sure of the dimension of the Predator's barrel but lighter means less rigid, which might not suit target use, the weight of the Hunter's barrel is in it's favour for rigidity, but for hunting makes the rifle very unhandy. Regardless, that Hunter stock is a really nice design. Let me know how you get on?

@@GunMartTV thanks for the reply. The predator is still a medium varmint barrel, still significantly heavier than the standard American but not as heavy as the hunter. For the overall compromise I feel the predator and the Magpul stock is the a better option for me. Was looking at 308 BTW. I shall report back.

@@mickm7422 Yes I think it strikes a more practical balance, good to see that not everyone is seduced by the Creedmoor. I've not long got an LSR2 built and decided on 308 Win, as it just works and is still top choice along with 243 in the UK.

@@mickm7422 Hey Mick - i'm literally having the EXACT same .308 dilemma. From my understanding and research the gun itself barrel/receiver is all the same (but from what you're saying the barrell is different..) The only difference I saw is the Ruger break the Hunter comes with. Seems like a no brainer pricewise (saving 150), but not seeing much info about people building from base vs buying the Hunter (most videos are out dated pre-Hunter release from Ruger)

That stock will flex at the grip for sure on the 308. Poor design.

Never shot a 308 version, so I cant say, but I assume from your comment you have. But I imagine all polymer stocks of this type will flex under recoil to a degree, need to get some slo-mo footage, much as I did with the Blackhawk unit on my 870 shotgun, as that twists like a salmon going up stream...

Strange. No data, no experience, just a blanket statement from out of the blue. Did someone buy a very expensive chassis rifle and then not have it shoot any better than one costing 1/4 the price you paid? There…there….poor boy.

Not a good idea shooting out of a window or garage door what ever u was doing there not ssfe at all. If u have a wife she could walk infront of the window while ur in the scope and walk right into a bullet. So could kids or a visiter. Mo side windows or nothing. Go outside and shoot so u know ur surroundings. What r u thinking? Ur not apperantly
