I purchased the components shown in the video and while watching and following I was able to disassemble the pistol, replace the springs and put it back together. Really great detail on the video. Of course, I had to stop the video several times to catch up on the process but the parts all worked flawlessly and the trigger pull is noticeably lighter. Looking forward to getting to the range with this little Ruger.

Also, the lighter firing pin spring will make it LESS drop safe. Since the LCP II doesn't have a physical firing pin blocking design, the drop safety is done via a very light (titanium) firing pin and a strong firing pin spring.

Not really an issue on the lcp2.The firing pin itself will not fire the round dropped or not just does not have enough mass. The danger comes if the hammer strikes it when dropped. Ruger put a safety notch in the hammer to stop that from happening.If something failed or broke when dropped the hammer will be stopped before impacting firing pin. Mcarbo won't like me for saying this but under 3 lbs for a pocket and or defensive gun is way to light. The 5+ on the stock gun is perfect. No not an internet expert 50+ years of experience.
@life_with_bernie
@life_with_bernie 3 жыл бұрын
@@barefootbob1269 Personally, I agree with you and I feel it's a bad idea to modify any defensive firearm, and especially to do it yourself. It puts a ton of extra legal liability square on your shoulders and may increase your chance of an ND/UD in a stressful situation. You really don't want to have to explain to a jury why you felt the need to reduce the trigger pull on a purely defensive handgun. This is not a match gun that you want to dial in the perfect trigger weight on. This is a last-ditch defensive tool just a step above bashing your attacker with a big rock. There is no valid need that you're going to be able to articulate to a jury at your trial when/if you ever have to use it. (also not an Internet expert - former USN Gunner's Mate)

I may be alone in this but I definitely wouldn't recommend a 2.5lb trigger on a self defense handgun. My PDP is around 4.25lbs and it's borderline too light in my opinion. If anyone decides to do this upgrade you better train on a regular basis (you should be doing that regardless of what you're carrying). Nice video....

I agree completely 👍 Why you would like a light trigger pull on a pocket pistol is beyond me. In a defensive situation I don't think you will be worried about the trigger pull. Now, if they made a product to make the trigger harder to pull, I might be interested🤔🤣Recently got a LCP MAX that has the same short pull and I much prefer the longer and stiffer trigger on my basic LCP. Should have been more careful. Otherwise, it's a great video.

You guys really should make an updated video. My LCP2 has a safety, and I had the slide stop, safety, and safety mechanism pop off on me. It wasn't terribly hard to figure it all out, but if I hadn't worked on a few guns in the past IDK if I'd have been able to get it back together. Also, the roll pin in the slide was horizontal instead of vertical. All that said, thanks for the video. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out.

Ruger LCP Max Flat Trigger And Spring Kit I was introduced to M*CARBO when I upgraded my LCP I with their flat trigger and spring kit. It truly transformed a questionable daily carry pistol to my every day carry. I decided to buy the LCP MAX because of its 10/12 round capacity and the fact it’s slightly wider giving it far greater controllability. The day after I bought it I shipped it to M*CARBO to have their Flat Trigger Upgrade Kit, Trigger Spring Kit, and Upgraded Stainless Steel Guide Rod installed. Took it to the range for the first time on Saturday and it blew me away how accurate and controllable it is. The take up and break is absolutely perfect for conceal carry. Firing a single shot, fast double taps even ripping 10 rounds fast as I could pull the trigger made no different. All shots hit within the ten ring. IMO beyond impressive for such a small gun. M*Carbo is the go to place for great innovative products and installation (gunsmith work). Would not trust my life to anyone else.

Took a bit longer as the LCP II 22lr is different with the firing pin retaining roll pin on the sides instead of the top. There is other small parts, the manual safety and it's spring as well as very small rocker. I should have done a video to eliminate the confusion. The hammer spring re-tension sucks, perhaps using a paper clip to get it our of the mag well and on the retaining pin. I would like to get the harden steel take down pin installed at the same time I did all the other work, but it's out of stock right now. But can't complain about the results, other than the stronger recoil spring, I may do this same fixes to my mother's pistol too!

Could you do a 22lr video. It's significantly different than the 380 version. I'm stuck with the trigger portion. *edit* Finally did it after 5 hours. If anyone else having a hard time removing the trigger safety blade pin, you're going to need something smaller than 1/16 punch. I luckily had a super tiny allen wrench laying around that I used as a makeshift punch.

I have two R LCP II 380s I bought them some time ago; the trigger pull on them right out of the box was outstanding and i could not wish for better. However, I just bought the new LCP II in .22RF and the trigger pull in it is over 6 pounds and is horrendous. It also has at least one failure to load or eject per magazine. I have already put it back in the box to trade in at great loss on next pistol. But, would this spring kit work in the .22 RF version? Do the newer LCP II .380s have different trigger pulls?

Man. 2lbs is just so light. It seems like if someone sneezes on that thing itll go off, I would be super cautious drawing that thing and grazing the trigger. I think 5.5 lb is already light for this tiny pocket pistol. I mean the pistol does jerk very easily because it's so small and light weight, but I don't think it's a long-range weapon. For an up-close 7 yd shot I think the stock trigger is just fine, it's not meant to be super accurate but just get the job done.

Why don't you tell people that by installing these MCarbo parts in their gun it voids the manufactures warranty. I bought your kit for my PMR30 and installed it then found out it's warranty was voided as well. Very frustrating.

Any problems with light strikes with the lighter hammer spring?

Lighter firing pin spring probably helps to prevent a light strike.

@@burnlikeneon4044 do you know the difference between a hammer spring and a firing pin spring? They do opposite functions.

@@GR8SCOTT No I don't know much about the internals and springs of firearms. I have an SR22 that has over 10 springs in total. I just know it is unfortunate that this pistol (LPC2) suffers from light strikes and I'm looking around to see if there is a solution before I purchase it.
