I'll be honest. I thought the first rifle was folded. Takedown rifles are definitely unique.

You should check the measurements of the AR-7 and Marlin papoose. I haven't shot any of these 3 guns. I am just talking about the overall size. I would also like to point out that when those two are broken down. In the case of the papoose in its case, they both float. I believe both of them were designed especially for canoeing.

Ruger takedowns don’t hold zero when you mount the scope to the receiver. I had that problem with mine and people online generally agree. If you want it to shoot iron sights it works great because front and rear sight are mounted to the barrel. If you want to use a scope you need to purchase a special mount the attaches to the barrel.
