In this video I talk about hygral fatigue, which can also be known as moisture overload or somewhat misnamed as overconditioning or over conditioned hair. I talk about is too much moisture bad for hair, what causes it with things such as sleeping with deep conditioner in hair overnight and why, and how the heck we can fix it. This video gives answers to things such as protein moisture balance and why your hair will need protein once you damage it with water, is it bad to sleep with deep conditioner overnight, is it ok to sleep in deep conditioner, can I sleep with a deep conditioner, can you leave conditioner in your hair overnight black hair, what happens if you leave conditioner in your hair overnight, explains things such as coconut oil prepoo, and lists certain things you may be doing weekly that are actually damaging your hair. I talk about how do you get rid of Moisture Overload, moisture overload on low porosity hair as well as high porosity and and how it may affect your hair's porosity, how to fix it, what makes it irreversible, and how long does it take to fix moisture overload. I talk about hygral fatigue on natural hair, low porosity hair, high porosity hair, hygral fatigue hair loss and pictures, symptoms, treatment, and how to fix. I talk about the signs and how to know if you have hygral fatigue if your hair looks limp, too soft, or gummy or mushy and causes breakage, all using research based hair scientist based information. I hope this clarifies what is moisture overload or what is hygral fatigue and questions such as moisture overload vs. hygral fatigue vs protein overload. I hope you'll find this video helpful. Share it with someone you know who could use this information!

I never understood why some naturals wet their hair every day. Someone on KZfaq did it and people thought it was a good idea. Ladies dry your hair after you wash it.

Once a week is good enough. I think we all go through a phase when we go natural where we think we have to do the absolute most and apply all these products now. A good shampoo, condition and a styling product once a week should be enough.

I enjoy science-based natural hair content. Not enough content creators care to dive into the specifics, but I love it! Thank you for the information, sorry that happened to you

So glad you are bringing awareness to this. I used to suffer from this too and not letting my hair dry properly because I thought the water was good to stay there longer, that even when I put my hair in a bun, my scalp began to swell and get sensitive. I also slept with a conditioner like a leave-in. I didn't fully know how to take care of my hair at the time. I think my hair porosity changed over time too. It gets dry quicker and I have a lot of frizz. I had protein overload too. Now I listen to the instructions on my products. I deep condition only 15 minutes. We have to listen to our hair, observe it and change our ways accordingly. It's a learning process but for me my goal is long hair. Currently it's at mid armpit length and my hair loves a good trim when necessary. It's good to learn from other youtubers but we still have to know our hair for ourselves because we are all different. All the best to us all, in our relationship with our hair and it's journey.

Omg yes! These are excellent points! I'm always telling my clients to limit how long their hair is exposed to water for this very reason. Water has a weakening effect, both while the hair is wet and over time. Love this!

For the last few years I've been natural and I would have to honestly say every time I've done my research and searched up new information about my hair this channel has been the only One so far that's really helped me out. Because every other KZfaqr honestly says the exact same thing about taking care of natural hair and it's just repeated information that nine times out of 10 might not work for everyone's hair type specifically 4C hair but this channel this lady really has changed the game and she's actually educating us about our natural hair and she's honestly the only one so far that has shown a different way of educating people about their hair and I am so thankful that I found her channel

I'm so guilty of this, especially the sleeping with conditioner. Today, I chopped 6 inches to start fresh. I don't believe in coincidences, so I know I was meant to see this video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge it's greatly appreciated 🙏🏽
