Hi guys 🙂
It has been more than a year now since we received the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer.
Since then, we have been testing and printing a lot with this machine and we published several videos about it.
So, because we passed the one-year mark, we decided to share with you our experience of all this time.

Excellent review! The Bambu printers have changes the way I use a 3D printer. I have been 3D printing for more than 8 years. I have owned 6 printers before the Bambu. Bambu printers are a game changer. They should be considered an appliance. They just work. I could not be happier with my purchase. P1P + AMS

@@ShipMonster of you mean the ams, no its not. Ive printed about 0.1% of my models in true multicolor....but ist a nice to have feature, wich allows you to put black text on prints for example .....so its nice, but not necessary

P1P (enclosed) owner, love it, multi-color prints melt a TON of plastic!! Best printer on the market currently, also.. they rewrote the game. Companies like copycat/ip-stealing Creality owe them greatly.

Are you saying that bambu lab did not copy or steal anything? You are joking right? How long did it take before they said bambu slicer was a direct port from prusa slicer? Who was it that said orca slicer produce bad gcodes but still ported the entire slicer over also 🤷‍♂️😂 I can promise you that they copied klipper also, just not using python. I suggest you read up some before say statement like that.

You are the same shill or shill comments that end up on EVERY Bambu Labs video.. go get your ender 3, put a candle on, make a single serving dinner & eat it with it and take it to the bedroom for a closed door night of fun.. (You) all act like Creality invented 3D printers, or if a better company comes out you need to try to defend it when it has done nothing but take hard earned money out of the pockets/work of the community.. where was/is Creality on a machine that works out of the box? I own 4.. and NONE work like the Bambu Labs printers I have., @@Exstaz

Technically the flashforge came first, then creality sermoon, then Bambu labs, then the K1. Nothing on any of these are original ideas. They just made improvements to them. The AMS is definitely unique. I’ll give Bambu that.

I saw a user vid on here where he used the other head to print other pieces with the waste from colour changes. Cut down the about of waste significantly and he got some pieces instead

I'm almost 2k hours in on an X1 Carbon and really haven't done any fixing on it. Preventatively I retighten belts every 1k, and their rod cleaning with iso. I will say the wire connectors on the nozzles need care, they are somewhat fragile. Otherwise the Lidar makes this thing more than worth it. It's been pretty refreshing not printing various cubes, benchmarks, whatever.. lol... That was fun and all but finally the industry can move beyond that.

it is absolutely incredible how good they look, you sir singlehandedly convinced me to abandon my creality machine and go for bambu, you should be on comission. only thing I wish for is that each print indicated what type of filament was used

Be certain to keep the lidar lens clean and only clean with a lens cloth. Micro scratches on the lidar lens can cause calibration issues.

Just got mine it's amazing. My old printer can't even come close on quailty, speed, and reliability. I would say you couldn't go wrong with it.

I would like to see a video on this printer using non-Bamboo filament. Once I get my X1 (soon) I will buy Bamboo labs filament but I'm not going to just throw out the 40+ spools I have. It would be nice to see how to use non- Bamboo Labs filament and how it preforms in the X1.

Actually, all the prints shown in our video were done with non-Bamboo filament. We used Kexcelled and Filament PM.

You just put it in the AMS as you would normally. Only difference is that without the RFID you need to tell the AMS what is loaded in each slot.

Love the video I am considering this printer but was a little worried about leaving the door open when printing PLA reminds me of my Raise E2 that need the door open for pla or you get heat creep,, all in all a hard decision Bambu or Prusa MMU3 with the MK4 printer.

Have you tried using hairspray instead of glue sticks? Or glass bed? Have you attempted color lithophanes?

Con, actual build volume 238x228x250, yes you can get the entire specified build volume with some modifications but then a couple functions that distinguish BL from other printers disappear!

Reduce the amount of purge in the start gcode - can save quite a lot! Absolutely agree about switch placement; in my setup it's a real pain. If it didn't invalidate warranty I would use a square metal munch to move it to the side

Honestly I bought the Creality K1, is also a not bad printer, but I had tons of issues and also it's more loudly than Bambu Lab. Right now, I will not going to buy it yet because it's expensive and there's a rumour that they will going to develop a huge version of the X1C (X1L)... So I will wait and if not, I will buy it selling the CR10 V3 that is getting dust and I have tons of problems.

Hi! Your video is amazing. Thanks so much for this information. My husband is struggling to get prints from this machine to iron and look good on top. Prints are Very rough on top. We desperately need it to work for our honeymoon based business as we have two special needs kids to care for. We’ve tried adjusting everything a hundred times. Can you help? I got mine in Friday 27 and arrived 3 days early it have a slight dent on the front but everything else is good I have been printing single color large prints and it just works unlike my ender 3 and biqu b1 that I have a problem every 3 prints and I cant never make a large print because something fails. I have been using 3d printers since 2020 and im exited again to have a 3d printer because with my others 3 printers is just problems im going to get rid of them the bambulab just works and is very fast.

Boas, sim dá desde que defina os filamentos correctamente no slicer. No entanto precisa de ter atenção porque o fabricante não aconselha a usar TPU com a AMS.

@RuiRaptor Question: have you tested PVA (a water-dissolvable filament used for supports) and/or HIPS (a limonene dissolvable filament often used for supports as well) for the X1 Carbon? If so, do you have a video on that giving your review/feedback? I’ve heard that there is no profile for HIPS and I’ve heard that PVA is still difficult to work with. But I don’t know if the X1 Carbon has good profiles for either of these filaments. I’m wanting to do a lot of modular designs which may have complex internal geometries and/or press fits (of varying tightnesses). So dissolvable support filament would be very helpful and save me a lot of hassle in the post-processing stage.

What about bad part dimension tolerances that everyone has? German forum full of posts about this, and no way to solve this since this is core xy printer. Parts do not fit together on this printer.

The security was addressed some time ago and bambu lab made some changes about that. Are they secure enough? Not sure but for fail proof security we can always not loggin and print from the memory card instead.

You mean voltage, not power. It works on both 110V and 220V

Very nice review. The major con is the AMS vs spools sizes. But all the other are easy Quick wins for them to perfect the printer. Have it running for 6 months now and got my first break, the camera with "pink" noise. They will send me another. Maybe related with high temps printing (ASA).

Boa tarde, a Bambu X1C, além de incluir o sensor lidar (na creality, apenas a K1 max é que está equipada com este sensor), possui outros componentes de melhor qualidade tal como o extrusor, etc. O firmware/AI está mais completo na bambu também.

So if I print mostly with PLA, I will have to leave the door open all the time? That seems odd and makes the enclosure worthless to keep my cats out of my prints while printing.

Yes, it's recommended because PLA does not like a hot enviroment. Instead of the door, you can remove the top cover instead.

Actually all cons you are mention are not cons to me, biggest thing on cons side you did not mention is "Loudnes" it is Loud. In comparing to the other printers it is Louder. But it is more reailable and blazing fast that is big plus to me. Print quality Is amasing ... love this machine even if it is loud. I was thinking that night prints would be too loud to sleep, but all prints I start on bambu ends before night :D

Print volume kills me, I've got a 10S and this is a huge step down in print space. The XL will be larger but it's a unicorn at this point and 2x the price. I had hoped Bambu would release a larger printer too but ala apparently not.

The lidar has issues with the pei sheet, as it's not smooth like the cool and engineering plates it comes with.

The main issue i have is bambus privacy terms....they have full rights and access to use your cad files and camera video files. Can't use in a commercial environment with ndas or government work. Bambu and the chinese government.

Wait, what? Then there is no way I would buy one. Not a chance. Because that thing is connected to your WiFi and therefore your entire network which would include your cell phone, tablet, PC.........Truly did not know that until this very second. Makes 3d printing choice from Bambu labs a non-starter for me.

⁠@@chethammerWiFi isn’t required, there’s a LAN only option. Any printer with cloud service is going to have privacy concerns.

@@chethammer if they where looking for an easy way into people's network, I'm pretty sure 3D printers isn't the most optimal way to do this considering how small the market is compared to so many other things, like phones, labtops and such or just IoT devices. But like mentioned it has a LAN only mode, that makes it not go online for anything but to update its clock, there is people who have done a bit of packet sniffing on its traffic to see what it actually does in cloud mode, and LAN mode. Ofc if you are scared they might steal your ground breaking 3D models, ofc don't use it, there is other printers who are 100% offline, the bambu would still as far as I know need internet at least when updating it. you can also just put it on a separate WLAN so that it cant connect to your primary lan, even though not all routers have good features when it comes to configurations like that, most of them offer a guest wifi, wich serves the same purpose, it doesn't allow clients talking with any other device or any other networks. Edit: the LAN only option (LAN Mode) mentioned isn't the use of an ethernet cable, in this case, it just means it wont connect to the cloud.
