A railway that I have never visited until now hosted a gala for the 13th and 14th May. The Ruislip Lido Railway had their first visiting steam locomotive, in the form of 1991 built, (rebuilt in 2020), Rebuilt-Exmoor 2-6-2 No.4, "Christopher", (visiting from the Littlehampton Railway). Alongside the coal fired tank was Ruislip 2-4-0ST No.6, "Mad Bess", which made this also the first time more than one steam locomotive has worked on the Ruislip Lido at once. It was also an unusual pairing as Mad Bess is oil fired, making this a Coal & Oil day. The 3rd train was operated by 4w-4w Diesel Mechanical No.7, "Graham Alexander". On driver for a fiver duties was 4w-4w Diesel Mechanical locomotives No.8 and 9, "Bayhurst", and ,"John Rennie", respectively. They were in a T'N'T configuration so the driver could face forwards in both directions, instead of going backwards to make it easier. I enjoyed my first visit to Ruislip Lido and I recommend visiting there as it's good for a park and ride.
