Rumi's context of love is for God, so it kind of make sense on his method to love. If you put the same love in human you'll be either in a delusion or a world of pain.

He wrote almost exclusively about his relationship with the Beloved, or his relationship with God, using the yearning people feel within romance as a starting point...it sounds very on brand. As much as I love the Divine, and feel a part of it, sometimes feeling lost outside it, before being reoriented within it is part of that journey towards union.

Rumi’s poetry refers to a “beloved”, and the “beloved” is the self. Or you can think of the self as part of God or part of the force of creation, or wisdom of the universe. Rumi was a “Sufi”.

Grow, heal, improve and do things that help you overcome your self loathing, practice self care. Maybe you don't know what love is. If you love in the way that you want, rather than in the way the other person needed or wanted, then that love won't reach them. After all, to be loved means to be seen, appreciated, heard and felt. To love in silence means that you give up on love in action. Just a passive spectator. Well it's a good idea if the person you love is in love/married to someone else. But if the person has no one else's then I think you better not really confess if that's the way you love, it's bare minimum bro. Your person doesn't deserve anything less. 😊
