I grew up in the 1980s watching them on MTV. I think there's a documentary series on Netflix about the murder I'll have to watch. BTW, the Ferncliff Cemetery is where a slew of famous people are buried: Ed Sullivan, Cab Calloway and Joan Crawford. All listed on Wikipedia. Thanks for the video.

Run DMC was the first Rap group i started listening to back in the 80s. I also watched their movie Tougher Than Leather a bunch of times back when it came out on cable tv. I had no idea he was a coke dealer though. With the money they were making from Raising Hell there should not have been any need to sell blow too. Thats crazy!

Malcolm X's grave is so plain. I thought it would be more elaborate. Thank you, Chris, for paying homage to Run DMC, and Jam Master Jay., and of course Malcolm X. Great tour.

It was the late 90’s and Run DMC played a small legendary club here in New Haven, CT. (Toad’s Place) I couldn’t believe I was able to see those Hip-Hop Legends up so close. What a show! Afterwards, I saw Jam Master Jay and DMC at a small table signing autographs. I took one of my white shell toe adidas off and had them sign it. Still have it to this day. (RIP JMJ) What a damn shame, peace to Rev Run and DMC.❤

At 5:36 - That view past the Whitestone to the City.. When I was growing up, on most days you couldn't see that far thanks to the smog. It was a thick orange-gray fog with black smoke billowing out of every apartment building's own furnace. We've come a long way. Off topic, I know.

I think my first contact with Run-DMC was that collab with Aerosmith for a cover of their song 'Walk This Way', which resulted in a great music video I had so much fun watching as a 8 year old kid. And coincidentally, it also put Aerosmith on the map for me. It was their greatest hit and the comeback for Aerosmith. And to think they didnt even want to do it at first, but had to be convinced by Jam Master Jay. 😊
