Runaway imo is Roxanne Shante's most well constructed song. Lyrically just amazing. The way she rides the beat effortlessly, over the Marley Cold Cuts makes for the perfect formula.

Great Old School!! This is when rap was rapping about treal life living in the ghetto or running away as She is doing here. Unlike todays bull$h!+ rapping about their guns and drugs completely different / opposite messages given. I cant believe some of the stuff I have to play when out DJing its all the same and is about what I just posted. To get away from it all I fire up the turntables and dig in the crates for this old school and sit and enjoy but also think about how the rap my kids listen is so different and how much its changed. Dont get me wrong some new stuff is catchy and ok but not like this Old School. I actually get my kids listening to this older stuff from time to time ;)
