Last week, one of our Phamily members asked whether they should sell or salvage runes and sigils they were holding onto. At first glance, the answer was simple. But when digging into the numbers, the answer turned out to be a bit more complex.
In about 3 minutes, you'll know how and why to salvage certain runes and sigils. How to make a profit from your daily salvages, but also which ones to buy!

I remember back on Gw2 Launch, players used karma to make gold and 4000 people got permanent ban. After much backlash, they unbanned most, reverted the gold, and patched the game, but still kept banned a streamer that showed the NPC with karma items. They never intend for people to make gold using karma. It's always been that Trashy currency that only looks helpful and or rewarding. Only recently they are needed for legendaries. Which is OK. I don't mind spending 5mil karma on a cool skin.

Please do a video on salvaging exotics. I have a bunch of account bound exotics piled up from unlocking skins for exotic hunter collection and other random sources that I have no idea what the best way to profit is :( I'm a relatively new player and pretty much any/all guides only explain the benefits of salving upto rares, barely even mentioning exotics except "sell them on tp" which isn't an option for a/c bound.

Use rare salvage kit on account bound exoctic (prefereable the mystic salvage kit) and sell ectoplasm on Trading post

1 - For weapons, recycle them on the mystic forge for a chance of precursor (usually used by players who are rich and they have nothing else to look for) 2 - If you need ectos, salvage all YOUR exotics, including your left over weapons (with Silver-fed) 3 - You always salvage your exotic armor, there's no other way (unless specific recipe done with the Mystic Forge) 4 - If you're after pure profit, repeat step 2, then salvage the ectos with copper-fed and sell the dust. 5 - well, there ya go, profit for ya.

Anet seems to be very ban happy. Got banned for the first time in over a decade of playing for being near some afk farmers when the GM was nearby even though I was actively playing the game. They refused to check their logs to confirm anything.

That's rough. You'd guess they'd try some things first like whispering or teleporting your character, and see if you react.

@phandrel They did state in in map chat to move aside if we're not afk, which I did. Maybe not far enough? At least it was only 72 hour ban. And I have Throne and Liberty and New World that I'm also playing. Does make me think twice about purchasing the next expansion though...

Yes. They banned Kripparian for something similar.

Yep, as @procerator said, they permabanned Krip back in the day for this. There was another banwave during the first Wintersday, and there's other cases of what they deemed "abuse of the in-game economy". Totally unfair, but it's their game after all...

I have done exactly this with green sigils, to get the charms that sky rocketed to 6 gold during the "craft a legendary rune for a free legendary relic" saga. I have printed over 2k gold with it then got bored. 😂

That's the downside of these methods, right? Kinda numbing compared to actual gameplay. But they work.
