It's Saturday, so that means a long run! The plan when I set out was to do about 20km.
It's a bit of a long video, but I wanted to share a couple of things:
Firstly, the knee situation. Last Saturday's long run I had quite a sore knee by the end and I have come to the conclusion that it's probably "IT Band Syndrome". I've done a bit of reading up, and so I wanted to share what it means to me and what I need to do about it.
Secondly, weight loss. When I started running a couple of years ago, I was 86.3kg. I didn't think of myself as "fat", I just had a bit of middle age spread. But I was definetly a bit overweight and heading the wrong direction.
One of the objectives of running and improving my fitness in general was to lose a bit of weight.
I'm currently at around 71.5kg.
But it hasn't all been plain sailing (it never is).
Weight loss is a journey, hopefully a journey to creating a permanent new relationship with your body. But it's also a changing relationship with food and alcohol.
