One of the realities you have to face as someone starting (or coming back to) exercise later in life is that you will inevitably have some aches and pains. it's not glamorous, but unfortunately it's my reality.
Years of relative inactivity can leave you with weakened and imbalanced muscles, tightness and reduced range of motion.
For me, this shows up in a few different ways, not least of which is IT Band Syndrome, most likely caused by weak glutes.
I get regular help from a sports massage therapist, she is nothing short of amazing.
In this video I wanted to go over my various aches and pains, as they are the main impediment to my performance improvements.
I don't exactly have an Instagram-ready body, but it's the only one I have!
Also, wanted to share the results of a recent health check blood test.
