Hey Shannon, I would say for general gym/training activities where you are doing cardio based activities, as you are working the body and as you workout and get hotter you naturally expand (just like it's hard to take a ring off of a warm hand). However you wouldn't want to have too much space that your foot is moving around when you're doing say squats or something. I'm answering this in a really long way aren't I :P But yes I would think this would apply to training gym. Thanks for watching and asking :) enjoy the weekend

Hello Mark, currently I`m using the Nike aa7403-001, I have them for a while now, they are the correct size and all but it always felt like the lateral arch part of the shoe is really narrow (I noticed when I took the insoles out and seem narrower than yours), so when I`m standing it feels a bit tight in that part, I also saw in a website that these are for supination foot type (That I think I have by looking at the wear on my other pairs of shoes) but also, seems that my foot is faltter than what the wear of my running shoes is telling me so I´m not sure if this thigtness is supposed to be part of the desing, if this part of the feet needs to be supported or if these are just not for me, I want to know before I start running more consistently. Thank you!

Hey Pablo, thanks for reaching out, I'd love to be able to try and help, but over the internet is always hard, so first tip would be to go to a small running store local to you, they normally can do gait analysis and have a real good insight on if a certain type of shoe whatever will be good or bad for you. And face to face feedback is always great. That being said, if it does not feel comfortable for you, then I think that is a big sign that maybe you might need something a little different. one good way to find out how you distribute your weight in your foot is to get a piece of cardboard the size of your feet or bigger, wet your feet, then stand on the cardboard for a couple of seconds with your wet feet. You will see how much of your arch makes contact with the ground (by seeing where the water leaves a print). That may be a useful exercise for you too try. I hope that helps in some way :)))) Marc

Hello sir, i purchased liberate nitro by puma few days back , the shoes are awesome. I wear UK 11 size for my regular workout shoes like nike metcons etc. However for puma liberate ,I ordered same size but the gap between my toe and the tip of the shoe is 2.2/2.3 cms, am I feeling them too long because they are thin shoes as compared to other shoes ? My nike metcons have around 2 cm gap . the pume liberate shoe, I ran 10 km with it and it was fine . My feet had a secure fit. I cannot buy size 10.5 as we dont have .5 sizes in india. and size 10 will be a snug fit may be with a gap of 1 cm i guess or even less . Kindly advise should i keep this size or return it back ? and , 2.2/2.3 cm gap is fine for a running shoe ?

Joe Staples I guess that’s equally an option, as long as they fit. I guess trying on without doing anything versus post, is that your sure they fit and lock in the heel, whereas they still may expand in length or toes.

Marc, It looks like I've been wearing Asics running shoes that are too small. Acording to Asics sizing, I need a shoe 1.5cm bigger. I don't run. I buy for the duomax (over pronation). If I use the shoes for walking or wear for casual wear do I still need to follow the asics guidelines for the 'running shoe'?
@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, well when doing any form of movement, your foot will have increased blood flow and as a result it does expand a bit, so having some room for comfort is a good idea. But maybe if just for walking it would not be as important. Comfort is key though I guess.

@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Oka, it's not as easy as just ordering a half/full size up, each brand and shoe is different, so making sure you have the full thumbs width between end of longest toe and end of the shoe, thats one important thing, and also that the heal doesn't move around when laced up. Hope that helps Oka

@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 4 жыл бұрын
I think the thing you want to be careful of is to make sure you can lockdown the laces around the mid foot, so it isn't slipping around, and if it has too much at the heel it could be troublesome. Can you get to a shop and try some on that are similar, that may help.

Hi Marc - thanks for this video; it's fantastic and super helpful. Quick question - one of my feet is a half size smaller than the other. Therefore, I can easily fit one finger at the heel of one shoe, and the other shoe is a perfect fit (thumbs width at toes and snug fit at heel). In this instance, what do I do? Do I go one size down to accommodate the smaller foot? Note: I tried my shoes in the morning when my feet weren't swollen.
@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Janenie, Tough one hey!!! I think the extra room at the front of the shoes isn't a problem, and in some shoes you can slide your finger down the back, but you just don't want your foot to be sliding forwards and backwards in the shoe (movement inside shoe = blisters). So if it fits nicely and doesn't move, and you can still fit finger behind heel, then that might be ok. I think the main things are... toes don't touch end of shoe already and as previpously said foot doesn't slide around. You coul dalso try at the end of the day when your feet have expanded just as another test. I hope that helps. YOu can always ask more :)

If my feet length is 26.5 cm and the brand says my size is 10, do i need to size up (like choosing 10.5) for more room for my toes? or the shoe comes with enough room from factory? I would really appreciate your answer
@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Lua, yes find the right sized shoe can be a tough process, as they vary between brand to brand. But what I primarily suggest is going to a shop and trying some on and making sure you have that 1 thumbs width at the end. For now, you could go to Salomon.com, open up a running shoe on a page (any it doesn't matter) and then click on 'Find your size' they have a good scale as to what you should buy depending on the length of your foot, so for 26.5cm they recommend EU 42 2/3 for mens size. I measured my foot and it is 29cm, Salomon recommend size 46 to me, and thats the shoe size I do actually have. So they have the shoe already calculated to your size and give you extra room. I hope that helps and makes sense :))))) feel free to ask more, and I have plenty more videos with other tips :))))

First thing i do is remove the insole and stand on that in my socks. if i do not have a pointer fingers width from the top of the foot bed from my longest toe i try a new size. Its better to have a slightly large shoe over a shoe too small. Your foot SWELLS. Also as we age our arches drop and that can cause the foot to lengthen some.

Thanks for the video,. Very useful info, and to be honest, the way you brought up your joke was very impressively natural. I think you have great potential to grow your channel, if you keep on letting your personality being part of your instructive content :) cheers!

How about true to size do you agree?
@runningwithmarc
@runningwithmarc 3 жыл бұрын
True to size means: true to the brands sizing, so if adidas make one shoe at size 44 then people ask do the new shoes run true to size. So yes the phrase is a valid question. And for me adidas generally run true to size, whereas altra shoes do not!

@@runningwithmarc So if I am size 9 in regular shoes is therefore a size 9 'true to size' running shoe the correct size? I usually go up at least a half to one full size in running shoes. Confused. I ask because I can only order online at the moment.

I can make a new video, sorry about that, when I was not so good at editing. leave one thumbs width at the end, stand on the insoles to see, make sure you can't put your thumb behind your heel when tightened up.... don't want your foot to slide around. Some of the basics. :)
