You can take out the fittings that slow the hyd. on your mill they are in line can get different ones that let more fluid go by.

I'm using .045 x 1.25, various woodmizers 10 degree. I think I'm going to try those tight fitting plastic belts and see what they do. I get a lot of blade flutter sometimes ( I can really see it in the outer blade roller guide bar) and I don't think that really helps.

Try some WM turbos or Kasco 7/40’s. As for those urethane belts I’d stay away I’ve never heard anything good about them. But forget 10 blades, throw them right out!

I've got an LT35HD, haven't really been happy with the regular double hard blades at 4 & 9 degrees staying sharp enough, long enough. Would you recommend the DH Turbo 7 as replacements? I'm down here cutting White oak, hickory, walnut and.... pine.

kyle warmerdam I was making 3 sided cants to feed a resaw for making pallet deck boards. The deck boards I make range in length from 30-54”. The thought process is to turn logs into cants as fast as possible and to make an extra cut just to clean up the cant would be a waste of time. The resaw is going to make that cut later on anyways. Plus it could also hurt my yield if there is taper on the piece and I took a slab to open up the whole face and I leave a 40” chunk of good wood on one end. Plus, there can be a healthy amount of wane on a pallet deck board. I want to send as much as possible. To get as much yield as I can out of each piece.

I hope the sawyer learned a lot more since then.... wasting a ton of good lumber....

JOHN WARKENTIN 16’ers is all I care to cut. Technically the blade will move down the rail like 20’6” or something but 20’ers are miserable to cut. I don’t like to go any longer than 16’s (with trim of course), then the dragback works normally and all that jazz.

On a scale from 1 - prelude I'd say it's pretty close.

Charles Hanna Haven’t had any complaints from my buyers and they always seem to want more than I can produce. Its just for pallet deck boards and stringers it’s not like I’m cutting stock to build a piano. This is not the way I would saw custom order stuff that’s sold retail, this is more like cutting cheese as quick as possible to load tractor trailers. That being said, I can feed pretty good in popple and it cuts nice and flat. There is however stresses in the log, and I do what I can to compensate for that within reason without hurting production too much. See sawing for production vs sawing something that’s gonna be measured with a micrometer is two completely different things.

Pallet wood = the customer does not care about precise dimensions. On the other hand, he missed an opportunity to square up the saw.

High speed rate in small logs isn't a problem.

Sketti Boi If you'd set up the woodmizer beside a 4 post mill on a hillside the woodmizer would still cut flat boards whereas the 4 post couldn't cut flat boards unless it was leveled perfectly.

That mill is made for it! Not reckless, it's skill by experience.

A mill this size was built for production, not for slow pokes who mess around! The operator did a wonderful job and it's his job to keep the offbearer covered up. If he gets behind then hire more help. I've helped offbear at an operation where we cut 5,600' of hardwood every 6 hrs with the LT70. Now that's production! The conveyors made offbearing easy.
