I’ve had a really bad hamstring injury that ruined the first half of my XC season. I couldn’t train for eight weeks and I’ve lost a lot of fitness. My first 5k was terrible this year. I have a two mile race tomorrow and I’m anxious. I was the champion of the 3200 and the record holder for the mile and the 3200 at my school, but I fear tomorrows two mile race will crush that. Thank you for this video. I’ll endure that pain to ensure that victory 💥 🎉🎉

"You either did something great or you didn't" I'm going to remember that. I just joined the cross country team and I'm having problems seeing the point of it and why I joined at all, and I think this summed it up. I'm tired of giving up, of quitting because I think I can't do it, before I've really tried. I'm tired of being that person.

At around halftime my feet and legs hurt so bad I was about to quit, but then I thought of this video and I had your voice in my head. "When you wake up tomorrow haven given up will be far more painful than anything else you could have done!" "The pain in your body during the final stretch of a race, that all dissipates, that becomes pretty meaningless looking back, its the results that matter, its the results you remember!" Thank you! FrostFlakejr can I ask something? When you are running a half marathon or a marathon or even a few miles. Do you feel like you are running at a 90% pace or what percent do you run at
@frostflakejr6324
@frostflakejr6324 5 жыл бұрын
@@bobjohnson6131 I run a 100%, which is race pace, don't get it mixed up with a sprint. But when I'm traing it could vary to 70-80-90-100, or even a sprint, it just depends what workout I'm doing.
@calvinrichards136
@calvinrichards136 5 жыл бұрын
@@bobjohnson6131 I don't know anyone who can race at 100% pace. Usually the goal is to hit a pace that you can run consistently for the distance you are racing. in a marathon or a half marathon, that pace is never 100%, as you would burn out before the finish. in the 100 meters however, its common for runners to give everything, as the race is so short. In longer distance you usually want to save your fastest pace for the very last sprint finish.
