I felt that the New Jersey Devils would make the playoffs this season. That prediction looked horrible before October even ended. Why is that, you ask? Well, this video will try to explain things. Mainly about five minutes going on about how godawful their team defense is.
This year has been a total disaster for the Devils, and it might be getting worse, as Ray Shero was fired as I was editing this video. Can't say it was exactly undeserved, but the timing is weird. In the middle of the season after they traded their best player?

I not, Curtis McElhinney Is past his prime and Sucks as a backup, what's even more stupid is Tampa Bay traded formal back up Louis domingue to New Jersey for a conditional 2021 7th round pick (with the lightning now has) which is stupid because he was one of the best backup in the league Edit: can we fired are gm early just because he replaced on backup goalie with trash?

Some expectations of an upset were expected, but as usual the Devils shit the bed when it matters. I guess this is a price to pay, when the 2012 playoffs were a time that I got into watching hockey and rooted for the Devils.

The thing is, the Red Wings were expected to be bad. The Devils weren't - or at least, not to the extent they are. The Red Wings are in a rebuilding phase. Whether you think that's going well at this point is kinda irrelevant, because a rebuild can only be judged after a few seasons later. The Wings will continue to be bad for the foreseeable, so what really is there to say? Yeah, you can laugh at how bad they are, but as countless teams have shown in years gone by, you have to be bad before you can be good again.

Hey Tree, Just want to say that I like a lot of your content. I find them hilarious and often informative. Most of them I laugh at even when they are about my teams. By the way I'm a Yankees, Knicks, New York Football Giants, and Rangers fan, for those who want to know. I saw the video about the Devils and their mismanagement of prospects and stars that are already doing better in other teams. I just want take the time to shoot an idea for a future video. Given what we now know about the sign stealing scandal in Baseball involving the Houston CheAtstros, and possibly the RedSux. I was thinking maybe you could post a video about them, most likely the Astros. Because it deserves that special Urinating Tree treatment. Well thanks anyway.

I like this video tree. I’m a Devils fans and I agree with the criticisms you gave to the team and organization. I think you under-shadow Nico thought. He was good until he beginning but as of late, he took a giant step forward. He is now going to the all star game. Blake Coleman is great as well. There is some good prospects in the system now the might be great when they come. But, some of them are injured or flattening out like you said. I’m very happy you made a hockey video. As a Devils fan, I knew a video like this was coming and pretty much what you said was true. The defense is full of guys who are offensive defensemen and not defensive defensemen and they can't rely on blackwood who is a rookie to turn into a god and cover up the holes.

As a Devils fan myself it’s no surprise a video about this team had to come out. Once the Devils chocked against the Jets on Oct.4 I knew this team was going to be hot trash. I’lll give them credit they have their moments at times, but this is a lesson that just because you get big name free agents doesn’t mean you fix the team. I hope this lesson is learned and in the future we will look back on this and laugh at how bad we once were.

Seeing that last clip of Kovalchuk score was like a bullet to the heart. That guy was my favorite player because he scored a hat trick on the first hockey game I went to. Now he plays for the team that beat us in the Stanley Cup.

I remember asking Tree during one of his live streams if he would be making a video about the Devils. His response was if they fucked up their own rebuild, he would consider. That brings us to today, oh how we deserve it.
