It’s funny you mention the extended cuts of Season 15. In the Snatch Game episode, Robyn Fierce had a full-on PEARL-esque staredown with RuPaul when discussing her Snatch Game character. It’s mind-blowing, as that would’ve been WILD to include in the episode.

Dishonorable mention to Mystery Queen 11 on UK5. She was edited out for similar circumstances as Sherry but her history came up much earlier during production so she didn't end up being a large player on her season and basically only now exists as an urban legend.

Yea, you can tell in the intro from the week after she got eliminated that the cast is pretty upset that she’s gone. Seeing that reaction made me wish we’d gotten to know Xunami in the way these girls had, since she really was kind of the Purple Kelly of the season.

@@heymistercarter.I disagree, she was probably the smallest presence, but she was edited to be Miss Congeniality. Her banter with other queens, like joking with Morphine about back in New York, the messenger pigeon Nymphia narration, ALL of her confessionals, she was great honestly.

@@jaybeeme she was actually on Survivor. They had two people named Kelly one season, so they called the Kelly with a purple stripe in her hair “Purple Kelly”. She’s known for two things on the show: one is making it pretty far into the season, but being one of two people to quit in one episode. The other is the fact that she was barely shown and had little to no confessionals throughout the season. It was often to where you’d forget she was on the show. So since her, anytime someone in a reality TV show is barely shown or featured in the edit, they’re described as getting the “purple edit”.

I only remember Honey Davenport because of the glow-up she had out of drag when they brought back the eliminated queens for the makeover challenge. All he did was grow a beard and it totally transformed his face and made him look a million times hotter (and he was already handsome to begin with).

I don’t know if you purposely left out All Stars, but I think Latrice in AS4 could’ve made this list. I mean there was so much hype about her returning. In contrast I don’t think the season really showed much of the big personality we loved from before. Video idea: a drag herstory lesson on drag names. How does one pick one?? Scarlett, I'm glad you brought up the Puerto Rico injustice in this show, and I'm hoping you guys can do a video just to discuss it. PR queens have literally built the show from it's infancy and continued to get mistreated and yet to have a crown 👑. I honestly wish we just get a Drag Race Puerto Rico because RuPaul just doesn't see it for the boricua girls.

I love how Scarlotta Monterey uses the word "right" to convey multiple expressions!! Usually, it is used to show agreement with Mera, other times she says "right?" as if to say "I know right!?!"... to convey her surprise!! 😮🎉 It is "officially" one of her go-to phrases! 😅

Even if Kandy Ho was almost edited out, she slayed her lipsyncs. Maybe it's unpopular, but to me Kandy Ho is one of the best lipsyncers that has ever been on Drag Race because she pull out stunts, move when it's needed, emote when it's needed, and connect with the soul of the song.

@@JW-vt9bd Heck she probably won that lip sync; I am sure I've heard somewhere that a lot of it was cut (and Jaidynn was superb at that lip sync) but they just had to get her out somehow. The Puerto Rico storyline is probably fairly complex. I wish we could get a full picture of it one day by someone like Alexis.

I’d maybe count Max in here too? I feel like they got attention for their looks but we knew next to nothing about them! So excited for Yvie’s book, one of my favourite queens. Considering how much she came back to be a lipsync assassin in other seasons I think her edit in AS7 was so unfounded, she deserved her storyline to be shared!

I think the original plan with All Winners was to be like All Stars 2 where the judges laid it all out on the table for them...but the difference was producers changed their mind and slowly shifted towards this positive "we're all so lucky just to be here" kind of thing.

In terms of Shark-Sandwich Pie, I’ve seen interviews with Heidi N Closet and others where they said she had probably the best chance of winning Season 12, while it was filming. Apparently, according to Heidi’s interview with Joseph Shepherd, they thought she’d win Snatch Game (even when all we saw were one or two jokes about essential tremors and scribbling nonsense down that was passed off as the right answer), and were surprised when GiGi won. So with that, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something in the World’s Worst challenge that explained her win, which was edited out.

i feel like heidi's story more so shows how wow is even more powerful edit wise than we think, i believe she literally said that the camera crew were ROFLing at sherry's snatch game. so when miss paul announces gigi as the winner, you KNOW something's up - cause that was before the allegations came up. (that makes that tea different from world's worst during which we, the audience, knew that she was gonna be edited out) on that note, there was a theory that the lost edit of S12 heavily focused on gigi and sherry's rivalry (jackfed's video IIRC) which could explain the allotment of wins on that season. but heidi's story still lives in my head rent free since that interview cause it's a very telling one.

I think another good queen to mention is Ivy Winters. Another miss congeniality who was in the top 7 in season 5 alongside literally the biggest names ever jinkx, Alaska, roxxxxy, detox, Coco & Alyssa and yet I kept forgetting she was there until I rewatched season 5 and I had no idea she made it as far as she did cause her confessionals were very few and far between. Also in her final untucked episode she only speaks once throughout the whole episode and only has the camera show her like 3 times...

Okay, so I don’t think that Xunami is really that much of an NPC. Yes, she was safe the ENTIRITY of her run, but she was edited to be so congenial, having bits with other queens in the work room, being a narrator especially during the Nymphia Española Messenger Service, she won mini-challenges, and people were like, omg is she doing a loosey when she said she’d add her two together into a maxi, she gave her prize to another queen due to her DACA status. Xunami was definitely a presence of season 16, which is what I love about that season: everyone was a presence.

Can someone please explain why they sometimes showed Sherry on the runway and/or being critiqued even when she didn’t win? Even for the stand up challenge, it wouldn’t have been necessary showing her despite not staying within time limit.

that's what i'm also wondering. i watched S12 after it aired knowing everything about the disqualification, and i was surprised to see her get featured as much as she was. of course you could see her screen time was cut, but i absolutely remember them showing more than her winning a challenge (and the reasons for it). the only clip of her i'm grateful exists is when she sets jaida up for the retattle joke in choices 2020, that i can stand by 😂. the rest - girl no...

Being from PR and having watched the show as it airs from season 1 to this day, I feel validated, because I’ve been saying for YEARS that something happened after season 3. We started so strong with Nina, Jessica, Yara and Alexis that it has always felt weird the treatment that Kenya, Madame, Lyneisha and the rest have gotten after that! Not one single girl from our country has gotten their deserved respect! (I know Vanjie is or PR descent, but she is a queen from the US rather than based on the island like Alyssa Hunter for example)

List idea: The "And I'm Here Too Girls" ones that make it into the top 4-5 of their year, through talent and gumption, but the season wasn't *about* them. they're not filler queens but didn't have the full attention of the edit. what sort of sets these girls apart is in the final 2-3 episodes before the finale they get to be more of an afterthought in the edit, almost as if the show feels like their presence is more of an obligation.

This is really such a specific set of queens. It’s so different than 1st out because even though they barely get screen time they’re most of the time remembered fondly and some become iconic. 2nd out and the NPC curse are probably the worst depictions/portrayals you can get on drag race. Even worse than the delulu edit or villain edit imo, because at least people remember you there.

the whole thing of the Puerto Rican queens is a theory that WOW presents have it against the island themselves because the more bigger drag houses were pushing girls to apply and go onto the show and up until the season Kandy was on they found out they were pushing so they gave her the least amount of screen time possible because of the riggory of the PR drag houses

Probably spreading a fake rumor here, but I’ve heard from a few different places that the Puerto Rico queens got so little from production and their edit, because of the way PR had been kind of rigging the audition process for certain queens by only letting a small number audition. I think madame la queer might have been the first person to break the rules and get on the show which kind of exposed the whole operation

I hope, that if Le Fil is on Canada vs the World, even if it's just for one episode, we get to hear him talk about using masculine pronouns in drag. Since these types of queens happen so few and far between on the show, the fact that we have to look at the wiki to even know this about him gives way for misgendering. Or not even that, ADD PRONOUNS TO THE CONFESSIONALS.

@@pete1126 Its use as an insult is implying that, like an NPC is a game, the person has no opinions of their own but are acting out their programming, doing and thinking what they're supposed to do instead of having true agency.

at the end of the day i personally just think origins of internet slang especially if they come from places like 4chan it's important to at least acknowledge it comes from a bigoted place 🤷♂️

They're not calling them NPCs irl. They're saying they appear like NPCs on a tv show, as a result of editing. Its not the same.
