I remember when R-27/30s and R-32s ruled the roost on the BMT Broadway line. Always enjoyed the express sprint from Union Square to 34th St. Very brisk!

Just new poles and LED lighting. The funny thing is, when you pair 4 cars of the retrofitted 46s and 4cars of a 46 that has the older lighting, the train becomes crap. New lighting + fixed motors and brakes VS old lighting and crappy motors and brakes.

The rails are probably freshly ground, so it’s not the motors. Freshly ground rails make a humming sound when trains run over them

Lots of NYC stations have very narrow platforms (ever seen the Beverley Rd station?) Riders just have to pay attention and be careful

I haven’t been in NYC since I left in 98, are people cool with you filming? Back in the 80s and 90s that wouldn’t have happened without someone giving you attitude. Has NYC changed for the better where people are not jerks anymore?

kevinerosa Sometimes they don’t give an attitude. However, on the subway and buses, some passengers may end up throwing a fit. For example, shortly after I started making videos again after 2 years of video inactivity, I filmed a bus ride on the B46 a few days ago and some (older) ladies within a 6 feet radius of me wondered what I was doing and falsely accused me of filming them, even though I was not filming them, but rather, filming out the front windshield of the bus. I just brushed it off and thought that they were trying to hit on me, and slide into my DMs lol. Perhaps they think that filming on a bus or subway is very sexy. Maybe I should have taken off the jacket and showed some skin, and maybe also gotten their digits lol. Luckily that video never made it to KZfaq, but at least I got some footage.
