First and foremost, I want to let the Rush Fans know I've screwed up on multiple things on this video and I wanted to apologize to y'all before diving into this reaction video of mine, here are the mistakes:
1.) This reaction is not to the original song with John Rutsey.
2.) Alex and Geddy wrote the lyrics and music.
3.) It's not pronounced pURt, and it is pEARt.
Can y'all guess this Rush song?? I've not heard this song before until now and let me tell you - this song is epic just like their song Xanadu.
I am on multiple music journey and Rush is one of them so if you want to stay in tune with me, hit the subscribe button.

I love this live performance from 2011! The bass and guitar duel is my favorite part. Cleveland is the city that really gave Rush their start in the U.S. back in 1974. A radio DJ in Cleveland, Donna Halper, played this song and it really caught on. Donna is a really interesting woman: She was the first female DJ at her college in 1968, and after helping start Rush's career in the United States, she got her PhD in her 60s and became a college professor in media history. There are some KZfaq videos of her giving lectures in various settings, and she is entertaining (I would have loved having her as a professor!). Anyway, for a future Rush reaction, I suggest the live version of 'Analog Kid' from the Clockwork Angels tour.

This song is from their 1st album with their 1st drummer John Rutsy, before Neil Peart joined. This live video is decades later with Neil.

As a lifelong Rush fan, you are doing great with your reactions. My friends and I were fortunate enough to see Rush live same tour, Time Machine tour when they played in West Palm Beach back in Oct of 2010. You probably knew from other Rush fans that Cleveland stop was recorded live because of local well-known Cleveland's rock station, WMMS aka The Buzzard starting to play Rush songs. Side note: Rush had a hard time to break through US's music market. Then one of WMMS DJ's played long song maybe 2112 on the radio because DJ has to go to the restroom. **Note radio programming back in the day, songs were short. But bands like Rush and Queen, radio programming was changed forever.

What I noticed about the audience is that although I tried to spot one, I never saw a woman in it. Rush was noted for having mostly male fans through a large part of their career. I also noticed that there was writing on the platform behind Alex and Geddy, and there were things written on it. Some that I saw were "bass time" and "half time", but the one that really stood out for me was a phrase that looked like it said "sausage time". That made me wonder if it was a reference to the audience composition.

Female Rush fan here. Sausage time refers to a skit they did that led into Spirit of Radio. Look for Rash, the "real" history of Rush episode two where Geddy has a restaurant called Gershon's house of Sausage. It is pretty funny. If you watch Caravan from the Time Machine Tour live in Cleveland you will see women in the audience. Cheers

I've lost count how many reactions I've watched to this particular clip, and every single time at the end when Ged is saying goodbye it's everything for me to fight back welling up with tears. Suck a bookmark in my life.... ugh, I miss seeing these guys live!

They have two women spotlighted in the first encore of the Cleveland show La Villa Strangiato but I'm sure there was more. 😊

The crazy thing as you mentioned about RUSH having very few female fans compared to all the male RUSH fans in the audience. Is the fact "Donna Halper" who was the music director & radio DJ @WMMS back when RUSH was trying to catch a break in music. Was the "lady" who discovered the band RUSH & played a big part to help put RUSH on the map from the jump back in the day. Real Talk! Just saying... "Sometimes Less Is More" ya dig? 🤔 ++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend++ 🤘😜🤘

The original Working Man version did not have the reggae but was straight ahead rock. When you have been playing a song since 1974 you like to change it up once in awhile. Fire performance! 🔥 🔥🔥
