This album changed my life. I am forever indebted to these three musicians for 40 years of joy and goosebumps. I still get goosebumps every single time I play this one.

This performance will never, ever be matched, utter excellence, from the Professor, to Alex’s masterpiece of guitar, and Geddy playing like 6 musicians would have to play to equal him. No words can describe this entire show!! Utter perfection. Can never be duplicated my friends

By the looks of it the outfits they're wearing are from the Tom Sawyer tour in mid 80s

Rush were in their prime their whole career, but, this is a prime example of a masterpiece...played masterfully.

Exit stage left has got to be the best live performance ever! I bought a VHS copy back in the day and almost wore it out!3 musicians at the top of their game! Magic ❤️🔥

Legendary performance. But what always kinda amused me is that in the intro section on the studio version, Geddy creates atmospheric wind noises with his Minimoog whereas here, he cranks up the filter resonance and just goes for R2D2-style whistling noises and has a little fun with it, with those quick knob twists heh. A bit of the "fun" side of Rush revealing itself a little here. :D

Thank you for sharing this version in good definition. Rush was the ultimate power trio, and this live version of Xanadu was the high point of the band's career.

We have been so lucky that Alex defied his fathers wishes to (get a proper job) in the 1972 documentary (come on children). How blessed have we been to be a small part of this huge phenomenon that is Rush? RIP professor and very best wishes to Geddy and Alex’s future projects. Wherever that leads you both your fans will be with you.

Xanadu. Not easy to play for any band. The drum fills are so ridiculously hard. RUSH is awesome. 🇨🇦 Love it.

This live album is by far the best live album I have ever heard, IMHO. I love Lifeson's tones on this song.
@nobrainsnoheadache2434 Жыл бұрын
well I wouldn't disagree, the only one that comes close is Alive by KISS
@tarkus07 Жыл бұрын
@@nobrainsnoheadache2434 Kiss's live is great, but Rush's virtuosity plus the quality of the melodies and arrangements make Exit Stage Left the best live album, only comparable to ELP's Pictures & Exhibition.

Alex is the reason I play guitar and so its hard to choose what the best Lifeson solo is, but a strong contender is the solo near the end of Xanadu

I bet Slash stole this intro guitar lick while making the song "Sweet Child of Mine." Xanadu is the only Rush song better than Red Barchetta.
