My review on the Leo2A7 with HE: I recommend using the HE (DM11) only if you want to challenge yourself, or to try and bonk a guy sitting around a corner by hitting the side of the turret, or bonking an Abrams sitting behind a hill. Rangefinder wont work on this shell cos its a time-fuze, so you need to manually do the job. I recommend studying the penetration mapping on opponent tanks in the hangar before trying anything crazy. I gotta say tho, the Leopard2A7 survivability with the spall liner is actually insane. In conclusion: very fun, would do again.

Actually there is an old bug (i guess): load HE, range find ur target, then switch to another type of shell and then switch back, distance will be the same, but round will work like regular one and explode only with direct impact. Try, its still working method smh.

Alternatively to the above suggestion, rangefinding the sky will keep your range but effectively move your TF to 10 clicks out, making it work like normal.

Ngl I hate the mods pc users get.. it’s not fair in the slightest when sight mods auto range as well… total advantage for those on pc. Along with sound mods, ULQ, etc.

For some reason I became intensely aware during this video that tank turrets in war thunder behave much more like heads than irl because the turret is slewing around along with the camera movement and it just freaked me out. Goofy metal creatures.

If you carry a second shell you can use the laser rangefinder get your distance, then switch to the next round but switch right back to HE before you fire n it will reset the Fuze to zero, then u have your distance without setting the Fuze. Obviously it doesn't matter when there rite in front but it help for those long range HE Yeats hope this helps someone

Hi Ruskii, Love the video as always, for top tiers HE for "Nato" tanks there the Merkava Mk3 and Mk 4 that got M339 shell, a SAPHE time fuse (yeah what the f), the shell for 4,7 kg of TNT equivalent and have 60 mm of pen a 30 degre at 100 meter, with the new premium merkava mk3 i think it can be fun OR you got the Char Leclerc that get the 5 sec reload buff too so if you want to do top tiers video there you go :) giving you some little unknow change or gimmick

Favorite tank with HE... It's either the 292 or the Moderna, although I've barely used the Moderna with HE. Outside of HE it's either the T-62 or the Moderna. Both were so satisfying to me Favorite to bonk might have to be Strykers thinking they're nice and safe. Can't have them be getting too comfortable with no turret crew now can we?

Couldn’t just take like one APFSDS so you can laser rangefind with the HE? Cause if u laser with he loaded and switch to APFSDS it gets rid of the fuse and keeps range

I honestly wonder why gaijin modeled HE to be this way, like aside from APS, if this is how HE actually works then why was APFSDS ever developed when you could just develope more efficient explosives?

Tanks have multiple roles..the apfsds allows for more speed and better accuracy at range, the pyrophoric effect, the density, and the 'self sharpening' qualities of du sabots are still effective

Ive asked this before on other channels but ill ask again😅.Is the Leo 2A7 worth unlocking ?.I almost completed the German ground vehicles tech tree ,only four high tier vehicles to unlock and thats it.

The Leo2a7, in my opinion, is so totally worth it. The spall liner gives this tank so much survivability. And if you show the enemy only your hull and angle the turret, you are essentially invincible. It also gets the dm53 which pens 650mm roughly which is actually insane. Overall, yes it’s worth it 😂
