Alternative Information Network # 93 - RUSSELL MEANS SPEAKS OUT
Russell Means (November 10, 1939 - October 22, 2012), was a leader of the American Indian Movement and victim of the FBI's COINTELPRO operation. Here he delivers an impassioned address about the nature of trying to be Indian in this country and of the necessity of maintaining the old customs and culture in order to preserve themselves as Indians. He also discusses the tragic consequences of the destructive effects on Indians by the activities of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the corporations exploiting Indian lands, and the forced evacuation of Indian lands in New Mexico, which were going on at the time of this speech. He speaks with moving reverence of the urgent necessity of life in harmony with nature and not transcending it in exploitative superiority.

One of the most tragic quotes Mr. Means uttered was during his presentation to the Senate on January 31, 1989: "In this United States, the American Indian can be anything he wants to be, except an American Indian." Sir, your people will continue to live through your legacy....thank you for bringing truth to the masses. Unfortunately, in today's United States, the truth no longer matters and the forked tongue is even more prevalent now than ever before.

Please after watching this powerful message from this truth telling fellow man go and watch him as a matured elder in the video titled: Russell Means: Welcome to the American Reservation Prison Camp (Full Length). This message is not just for the Native Americans but for ALL of us! Listen to the overall message to you! Rest in peace and thank you for speaking to a young white appearing woman when I visited Pine Ridge and Porcupine Reservations. It was my highest honor to speak with Russel Means. He was so kind, real, and you could feel his love inside pouring out to any and all that would approach him earnestly interested in listening to him. What a blessing! We are all living on this reservation called the USA. Wake up!

But we must also remember this deeply inside - drink it in, breath it in, let it become part of our being - so that when the recorded words are removed or otherwise disappear, we can speak these truths from within our own essence. This is why, as I think all truly native people know, that ORAL HISTORY is superior and more reliable than any man-made method of documentation. If you know what is REAL TRUTH you don't need a book or a picture to convey the message - it is within your vey being. And by extension, it is within the essence of all that is, and ever will be.

If I could get help on the functional aspects of a campaign, I have a folder of plans and a dream to reclaim this land for a term. Give the reigns to a co-Ed pair of social leaders, stand-down the foreign military operations while keeping those troops employed on the half of the folder dedicated to ending child abuse and dark alley worries, a quarter of the folder dedicated to reigniting the public school system into learn at your own pace/trade school approach and without taking homes or lands from anyone - give back this land if but only in title on paper and spirit in purpose back to the collective First Nations/first temple ways. So that we virgins of spirit might respectfully have one more chance at redeeming the dark shortcuts taken by my forefathers and repair the soul of our great nation of nations. I’m an adhd butterfly chaser and a visionary that wears an immovable shield of faith. Faith in what cannot be bought, sold or pretended. A faith that cannot be articulated in common tongue. A “word-god”-less faith that knows much and assumes nothing. If someone could just fill out the paperwork and be the strengths I lack, I am that one of ancient strengths that can approach the stars and sing us back into harmony with the mother. If someone could tie my shoes for me, and allow me just to channel the Great Spirit.. I would be that worthy carry of the still bright torch that Russell burned into my heart. I have the proof on paper that will return the hearts of men back to ways of our true ancestors and this thing I say on the authority of the never ending enemy of the nothingness that today eats away at our hope.. I would reconquer every inch of what was lost to greed and malice, every speck of sand fenced off from those who knew each grains sacred name. I would call this land by a new name, having enough respect for those who bravely put valor before glory for her, I would call it “Alłuvit” because I would win back all of it, every last stone unturned so none of the Warhawks that severed us from our ancestors can ever be believed again and only the ocean will be their escape path as we sweep this place free of the foolish fodder that hatred and error have so easily found hiding place in and knowingly plagued Americas powerful, forgiving, trusting and benevolent majority with. I don’t want to be king but I want to be the visionary that makes the world not feel like they need one. It’s time. I’m over the bull and the horns that seem to think we are ok with having In our backs. Anyone wanna build a better mousetrap? I’ve got Fire yet unseen, will travel.

The only reason the United States celebrates Columbus, was to give the Italians and Southern European immigrants(1880-1920's) a stake in American History. Even at that point in history they knew the Vikings were first modern Europeans to set foot on North America some 600 years before Columbus, and they knew where they were going. Before the wave of Southern and eastern Europeans immigrants came, the main European ethnic groups in the U.S. were northern European and our culture of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Germanic. Heck the first Europeans to set foot on America was 2,000 or more years before the Indians, they were the the Solutreans from present day northern France. They were killed off and mixed away by the waves of Indian/Mongolians from North East Asia coming over the land bridge later. It is why Indian tribes further east(closer to the east coast) have more European DNA than those further west. Indians or tribal peoples of North America, most of them, are a mix of North East Asian And Northern Europeans. With the DNA being more East Asian west and more European East. I imagine what happened to the original Europeans who first set foot in America 13,000-18,000 years ago, is just like today. Mixing. The Lumbee Indians of North Carolina had blue eyes since before the James Town settlement. A left over sign of East Asian and Solutrean/European genetic mixing. But yes the Indians/tribal Americans have a very old tribal culture dating back some 10,000 years since the end of the last mixing of East Asians and Solutreans some 8,000-10,000 years ago. They still have the original spiritual understanding of tribal man, Animism. Which is the natural religion for all tribal peoples of the world. Including Europeans before they were Christianized/spiritually enslaved. Europe was purged of it's Nature religions/Paganism by the Christian fanatics some 1,000 years ago. We lost our connection to Animism(everything has a spirit) 100's of years ago. Many of us are just now understanding what we lost and how we were used like tools for the monotheistic machine to subjugate others into the same belief system of control. European Pagans use to communicate with trees and hold them with the highest respect. We did not have Priests back then, we had Wizards(wise ones/men), Druids(Oakwise) and Witches(wise women). We had Father Time and Mother Earth in our old teachings. We celebrated the Solstices and Yule Tide. Sprites, elves, fairies were all spirits of the land and our ancestors for us. If the roots are deep, the tree will heal and grow back.

I met Russell in the late 90's. He mentions the trail of tears and the Cherokee but remember that the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and many Seminole were also relocated in the same forced removal. And I saw a study just the other day. Currently 60% of Indians marry non-Indians and they estimate that by 2080 less that 8,000 people will remain that can document at least 1/4 Indian blood.

Russell wasn't wrong. He was also a great orator, injecting humor within his truth. This show had horrific intro music.

Actually, Russell..... No, th Black's heritage had, at length , already been substantially stripped or fragmented, over 100s of yrs, by slave trading practices and intertribal wars within Africa itself, sad to say. ..... What th trans Atlantic slave trade did, certainly made things worse, but it wz th tip of a very big iceberg

No such thing as “America” and definitely no such thing as an “American Indian”. We are Nihiyaw. The Europeans were lost and thought they washed up in India. That’s why they refer to us as “Indian” when India is thousands of miles away.we are Nihiyaw. People of the four directions. The people Europeans wrote their bible about. Calling us angels because we saved them and took care of them. They said we have wings on our backs after they watched us have a pow wow. Tapwiy! Nihiyaw katawasisiw wiya! Miskinak ministik ikwa Nihiyaw kakikiy. Ninaskomitin ochitamitowin. Kisakitin kakiyaw nikosisak, Kisakitin iskwewak. Yotin pimohkitiw napew nitsikason. Ninaskomitin kakiyaw nihiyaw

I cant believe what we do to great people. Its far worse than we do to people that chose to harm other people. If we dont wake up we will not realize we have done it to ourselves. We cannot chose to not be included. We cannot pretend we dont see it. We cannot pretend we did not do it.

Our brother Russell is right Pine Ridge was designated a concentration camp with the its own number as were all reservations here in the United States in Canada they were called Reserves but that's how the white people treated us by putting us in concentration camps after they had stolen our land killed our food supplies off and even our water the water bottles are still going long on like all the other battles even dating back to the 1800s we are still fighting the same battles we did then but nobody ever hears about it due to the media not disclosing it we are also demanding our lands back that had been stolen with t h e d a w e s Act of 1889 which reduced our reservations by approximately 3/4 the US government has always been the biggest Thief among Thieves

As the name member myself of the Los Angeles chapter back in the '80s and 90s we did have a lot of infiltrators set Upon Us by the FBI and the government we must have really been a big threat to them I guess most of the people that were coming in we're not Indian going against one of the comments I read here in the comments section we did not get sold out by our own people the and we are still going strong I must say aim is still here we need to get stronger however like we were back in the 60s and 70s but we were set upon by the FBI and the government infiltrators to listen in our meetings our plans or actions Etc so just to say to get that to clarified our own people do not sell us out the government and it's spies did the job
